I couldn't bear to watch the Lakers banner ceremony tonight, but for those who did watch, I have a question: when they got their rings, was there an asterisk where the diamond should have been?

My burning question: Why is Paul Pierce better than Lebron? The Captain delivered once again. Lebron can't finish games.

Who is better means nothing. Banners mean something.

Regarding the Lakers ring, why would their be an asterisk? Their championship was legit.

If someone means because KG was injured, we can't say we even would have made the finals. It would make more sense to put an asterisk on our last banner since we actually played the lakers with their starting center injured.

How about no asterisk unless a championship is won with replacement players?

Jealousy is unbecoming.

no asterisk is needed.  they won the title by beating the teams competing against them in the playoffs.  That's all that's required and that's exactly what they did.

As players though, they should feel like it's a little less of an accomplishment not to either beat the team with the best record or the defending champions.  No offense to Orlando for getting to the finals but neither they nor the C's were at full strength and CLE just plain collapsed.  I'm sure the Lakers feel it was a heck of an accomplishment but it's one best enjoyed when you beat the best competition at their best to win it.

And why was Rick Fox at the ring ceremony?

Because they really wanted Vanessa Williams courtside?
