I talked to CROTOR, and he said that Davis decided that punching a mailbox was a good idea.
I always like when guys decide that controlling anger is punching an inanimate object instead of someone's face.  I have a feeling that if this is the case, a team suspension might be in order.

Haha please don't take me seriously RAcker...

that was made up.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

for the first game....no baby, no scal, no tony, no walker.....boston looks VERY thin at PF now....KG and then Sheldon Williams....methinks we will see some wallace and perkins together for awhile...might be time to go find another big on the scrap heap

Quote
Glen Davis has suffered a right thumb injury and could be lost to the Celtics for a significant period of time.

He underwent X-rays today and will have to get further tests to determine the full extend of the dame. Surgery could be required.

According to sources, this was a non-basketball injury. It happened Sunday night when he got into an altercation with a friend, a former teammate, who was visiting from Louisiana.

Davis was reportedly defending himself.

Doc Rivers said after today that he was unaware of the circumstances, but sources said the club has been fully apprised of the situation.

As expected, the Celts are not pleased. Davis is said to be extremely upset, too.

I guess the next obvious question is "Was alcohol involved and was there a police report filed?" If Davis was 'defending' himself, then it would be a good bet someone was intoxicated and doing some Grab***ing that got outta hand.

A bit irrelevant. I highly doubt baby is going to press charges on a former friend, and assuming they both were of drinking age, alcohol being involved is of little importance. This seems to be nothing but a minor incident. I think all Baby has to worry about is the hand and no Tony'esque legal problems.

not worried about the legal crap...worried about the depth at PF now...this is going to put wallace's minutes up b/c he will have to spot KG and perk more until baby gets back....don't really know what sheldon has to offer at PF but it will be interesting to see how doc handles the minutes with the bigs....foul troubles must be avoided until they can at least get scal back

Wait, what happened to Scal?  I'd assume he'll be stepping in at backup 4, especially since Cleveland doesn't have any real offensive threats at that spot.

Players should be plenty fresh at this stage of the season.  Shouldn't be a big thing.
Gives Rivers an excuse to play small ball.

i expect we will see perk or garnett on the floor when wallace comes in....boston won't be able to sub both out...can't afford to....

i like this line up:

Daniels
Eddie
PP
Sheed
KG

Man, we're starting the year like we ended the last one. Anyways, let's kill the Cavs.

Right now, this really doesn't make a big difference.  All of the rest of the rotation players are healthy.  Williams (and Scal when he is ready) are both solid enough to step in to pick up a few minutes, and help out if there is foul trouble.

If this injury was in February, when everyone else is starting to get worn down, then it could be a problem, but right now, it shouldn't be a huge deal.

What will be the real question is how Baby deals with it.  Does he sit on his ass, gain 15 pounds, and have to start from scratch when he returns, or does he take this opportunity to hit the treadmill hard, lose another 10-15 pounds, and come back with a purpose?  I honestly don't know what to expect.

Frustrating.  I hope the injury is not too serious and he can get back on the floor soon.  Meantime, let's see what Shelden can do tomorrow night.
