Denver, Cleveland Are Jackson's Most Likely Landing Spots

I do think that Denver does have a greater need at the wing positions then Cleveland does, so it makes a lot of sense for them to try to get SJ.

I think I heard somewhere, however, that GS wants a big man in return for him, do you think they'd be interested in a package including big baby around the all-star break? Do you think we would be willing depending on how baby is adjusting to his new role? (I actually think something like this is why Doc wanted to keep sweetney around, hoping he could be in shape by then to contribute).

Cle has Big Z's expiring contract. If they pull the trigger though, and the Shaq experiment fails, their screwed.

If this happens, I don't see it happening till later in the season (and also they'd have to take another one of GS contracts to match it up salary cap wise).

I have no clue who CLE or DEN would give up and the article doesn't mention anyone specifically. I'm just passing along the news because it could be a really good thing or bad thing for us, depending on where he ends up!

We'd be the perfect trading partner for Jackson. We could give baby and expiring contracts for him. I don't think our management would want his long term contract.  I hope he doesn't go to the Cavs for nothing.

If he ends up on the Cavs we're in trouble.  In my opinion the Cavs are very mortal right now.  If you give them an upgrade (like a quasi-All-Star upgrade) then they become [dang] close to immortal.  Although it's true that they'd probably have to trade away Big Z and then they'd be totally screwed if Shaq got injured for any stretch of time or if the "Shaqsperiment" didn't work out.

On Denver...well, the only "hole" in their starting lineup is J.R. Smith, who isn't a slouch, but probably works best as a sixth man (like a rich man's Eddie House who can actually drive to the basket).

Maybe they could trade Renaldo Balkman + trade exception (cash) for Jackson...Nelson would love a SF / PF like Balkman (he's not that great but has potential I guess).  Half of GS's team is already swing forwards, so why not get another?

If ESPN's numbers are right, their largest trade exception is for $7,404,385.  To fit a player under this exception, his salary can be no more than $100k greater, or $7,504,385.

Jackson's salary is listed at $7,650,000, meaning that the trade wouldn't work using this trade exception.  Since trade exceptions can't be combined, it seems like they're stuck, unless 1) they trade players, or 2) they get a third team involved.

this doesn't scare me, let him go to cleveland. He's not gonna accept being a role player. AND they just signed Moon and Parker. He'll complain about minutes or just take the ball away from LeBron

Maybe, maybe not. Either way I hope he goes to Denver. Not because I'm scared of him in Cleveland, per se but I think Denver would rival LA and San Antonio and really make it tough in the west.

I'd love to see a Denver/Boston finals.
