Ouch, JR with the 0-fer.  It's looking more and more like it'll be JR sent down and Lester dressing (til TA or Walker get back at least).  Can't wait to actually watch the kid in a game, it sounds like he's looking very solid.

He's doing what he is told. Doc made it clear. JR isn't a scorer for this team, but rather a defender. So all of his focus now is defensively. Come game day, JR will active and dressed.

Did he play well on D?  I can't see the games, I'm basing this on other people's reactions.  Seems like Lester has been better than JR in every game.

He may be better than J.R., but once Walker and Allen are healthy, will either player even be on the active roster.  I could see Hudson, J.R., and Sheldon all inactive come December.

Definitely, like I said the spots are temporary til TA and Walker are ready.  But 2 of them will be able to dress short-term, and Shelden and Hudson seem like the most likely candidates right now.  I'm just hoping to get a chance to see the guy play with all the buzz around here.

Very inspiring win tonight.

My favorite moment:  Marquis Daniels' mid-air rebound/outlet pass to Perk running the break and getting to the line for two.  That's some pretty excellent stuff to see.

----------------------------------------------

Favorite Tommy/Mike exchange:

(after a questionable call in Lebron's favor)

T: "They should kneel down and kiss his ring."

M: "He doesn't have a ring yet."

(...pause)

T: GOOD POINT!

----------------------------------------------
Besides one bad shot in the 4th, I thought Shelden Williams played flawlessly in his minutes.

----------------------------------------------

I'm READY!
Yup

I'm curious to see what happens too.  I just disagree with the notion that some people have that he should get minutes in anything but a blowout.

Redz getting into mid-season form.  Glad to see it.

And I agree that this Mike & Tommy exchange was classic.

Now, as for the game...it means nothing really except that we are clearly more harmonious than Cleveland at this point.  Shaq still has some game and may help them, but Parker and Moon are clearly not in the flow yet, particularly on defense.  Our second string, third string and even end of the bench guys were killing them for much of the game.

I just hope this long layoff we are now starting doesn't throw off our good groove we're enjoying.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get some 2nd quarter run against bad teams as a little Rondo insurance, but I agree he's not going to have anything more than a cameo role on this team unless there's (knock on wood) injuries.  Glad to see everyone so optimistic over a pick that was a total crap shoot.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I'm probably alone on this but I think Hudson is above Walker as well. Walker has had some nice highlights, but he hasn't really played solid games offensively and defensively like Hudson has. As far as I'm concerned they're in the same boat as far as chances of getting PT with Hudson getting the slight edge. Hudson can play some really tough defense and is a good jumpshooter which I think scores him major points.

Looks great.   They played everybody expect Delonte, and we sat 3 big names Garnett, Ray and BBD.  Great way to get ready for this season.  We are going to crush this Cavs squad.

All that happened in this game, and the number one Sports Center highlight for the day? LeBron dunking on Rondo like it's the playoffs or something. Just goes to show how the press and the NBA stroke their favorites ... I'm sick of it. But, way to go Celts ... great game!

Don't worry, I've been sick of SportsCenter for 25 years.  Now I just love it.   Can't wait to watch these people after another Celtics title.

I agree, but I'd have to split the MVP votes for Lester and Sweetney. Congrats to our two preseason co-MVPs!
