A different trade proposal this time.(although, i'm still a fan of the Law deal)

What is the consensus of a Tony Allen for Jarvis Hayes deal??

just curious, If Doc is gonna place Marquis at the point for a majority of the time, what about bringing in Jarvis Hayes? (can play 2 or 3).....injury prone just like TA but is slightly better in my opinion.

What are you thoughts on this deal???

Jarvis' contract is similar to TA's, only has 1 yr left on contract

I'm not sure the Nets would want Allen.   I think the Nets are expecting Lee and Douglas-Roberts to split time at the 2 and if anything I think the Nets would possibly want more of a 3 in return.

I'm with the camp to hold onto our pieces now and see what are needs our by midseason.   Giddens has been a decent surprise in a couple games.  Who knows maybe he can fill in some spot minutes at the 3.

They don't have the roster space, but I believe the Nets would consider a Keyon Dooling and Trenton Hassell for Tony Allen, Brian Scalabrine, and JR Giddens.

This is one of those trades that works on paper, but would never get done.  Why? because it doesn't benefit either team.

  • Rondo = Good
Only player I'd be interested in on the Nets is Keyon Dooling, and we don't really have the assets to trade for him (of the players we're willing to trade), nor do we really have the kind of minutes to give Keyon that he really deserves.

Don't know about that ... if you could give them

1. Salary relief by taking Keyon off the books (still have Lebron fantasy)
2. A young player with upside in a JR Giddens with an option year

I'd love to offer them Allen and Giddens for Keyon straight up.  Granted, they'd have to release a player (Trenton Hassell).

I'd love to see Dooling as our backup PG.  It allows us to play Eddie House at the 2 with them swapping off on defense.  Daniels backs up Pierce.

I had to read this thread the second I saw it.  I couldn't wait to see what the famous "Tony Allen for Acie Law" guy was going to think of next.  Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed.  Jarvis Hayes?!  Trade Proposal Savant.  What will he think of next?  I can't wait to find out.

I don't think anyone wants TA at this point.  A couple years ago, yes, because he still had potential to improve.  It's hard to believe that this is TA's 6th year!  He is what he is at this point- not very good.  And becuase he's been in the league so long, he's not even a tease anymore.
But yeah, I'd prefer Jarvis Hayes to TA.
