STH Open Practice

So this is my first year as a season ticket holder, and the STH Open Practice is tonight.  I was curious to hear from past experience as to what it's all about...I hear it's only about an hour long, so I am not sure if going from Waltham to Lowell at rush hour is worth the traffic to get up there?

I definitely want to check this out, it would be cool to get up close and see the practice run.  I am just wondering if people who have gone to this in years past think it's worth the trip.

my honest opinion....they are very boring and a waste of time.  b4 the team was good, they offered attendance to practice at healthpoint, where u were able to get really up close and personal.  those practices were unbelievable to attend.  the last few, at large venues, is just boring.  this is just my opinion.  if you go, i hope u enjoy urself and have a better experience than i had.

I just got back from the open practice, and it was great.
Photos with the trophy. Actually got about 4.
Autos from Cousy, Heinson, Dana Barros, Satch, Jo Jo, and Max.
I had Max sign "Quack" on it.

Practice was cool to see the boys running.
Doc made Lester introduce the players with Big Baby's help.
That was funny.
Doc addressed the crowd, and thanked everyone for their support.
At the end of practice, players threw t-shirts in the crowd.

KG looked good, no limping.
Ray hit about 12 3's in a row before missing one.
Big Baby flashed up around a screen set for Rondo with the ball, and he sent Rondo flying to the floor. Rondo got up and was ok.

Not fun? Get real!
Where else can you get 20 feet away from all the players?

my honest opinion....they are very boring and a waste of time.  b4 the team was good, they offered attendance to practice at healthpoint, where u were able to get really up close and personal.  those practices were unbelievable to attend.  the last few, at large venues, is just boring.  this is just my opinion.  if you go, i hope u enjoy urself and have a better experience than i had.

I ended up having a pretty good time, but I can totally see where you are coming from.  If I had been to the Healthpoint practices before, this would definitely feel like a downgrade.

The intros were great, with BBD playing the "hype man" to perfection.  Lester would rattle off a name and BBD would just start yelling into the mic saying random stuff.

It was cool to see for someone who has never been there, but I could totally understand not going out of your way to see it.

On a side note, Rondo, House, and Sheed were playing football at the end, and Rondo could be a QB, he was throwing perfect spirals the length of the court to Sheed.

Agreed.  I've been to both versions and the older ones were much better.  I think the more recent ones are geard more towards little kids, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.  Just not something that I'm all that into.
