The Warriors, sources said, do not want to send Jackson home for an extended stay until they can find a deal, as the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks did last season with Jamaal Tinsley and Stephon Marbury, respectively, before ultimately negotiating buyouts with both players when trades couldn't be struck.

Will Golden State soon have to settle for expiring contracts and perhaps a lower-level prospect if they can't strike a deal? If so, how would you feel about DA making a run at him using Scal, TA, Walker/Giddens and a 1st rounder?

Personally, I'd love to see him in green.

I think at this point, Danny is fielding more calls than he is making.  Without a doubt, he's made it know that we have sweet expirings and probably told everyone to come and see him if they have anything of worth to give up in return.

This story frustrates me.

In three seasons with Golden State, Jackson has missed a combined 76 games. Last season he only played 59.

For someone who missed almost 30% of last season and is assigned the title of “Captain” his trade demands are insulting.

Prior to being traded to the Warriors, Jackson was cast as one of the league’s black sheep. Golden State gave him an opportunity to repair his image and re-establish himself as a player. They then signed him to a lucrative extension. Months later, he asks for a ticket out of town.

You know what Captain Jack, cry to someone else! Between him and Monta “the Scooter” Ellis, their contracts should both be ripped into shreds.

Stephen Jackson is or was the leader of that team. He complains that they’re not trying to compete anymore based on Baron Davis deciding on a whim that he’d like to give the Clippers a shot after GSW made a competitive offer.

Play a full season and be leader. Show a shred of accountability.

No Jackson!  If he is calling GS go after the big young kid they have...name?
Jackson was shipped out by Bird and hasn't done enough as far as I am concerned to make me think he's any better of a teammate.

I second that.

Jackson would be a big pain in our locker room. He will not be happy coming off the bench, he will not get enough shots, he will not be the focus of attention. Also way too much contract left for a guy his age and history. Just not worth the headaches on any level.

They can keep Corey Maggette and Monta Ellis too for all that....they are just as bad.

The young guys? Biedrins, Morrow, Curry, Wright and Randolph are probably untouchable unless bigger talent is involved like Rondo or Perk.

House and Daniels will probably be taking up most of the backup guard minutes. Is there even room for Jackson?

All this also assumes Hudson doesn't make the backup rotation...you never know there.

I don't think Jackson's worth it, but I won't rule out the chance Ainge pulls the trigger for the right price.

No, Danny didn't call about Jackson.  If he called about anyone, it was Acie Law.

Yes, he has called GS.  But I would be shocked if he even mentioned Jackson.  Danny calls every team, but I don't think he has much interest in bringing in Jackson's contract.

Jackson wants to play for a contender...he averages 20, 5, and 5...he's burned bridges with GS to the point that they aren't going to get anything of value back for him.

I say all that to say, why wouldn't Danny have at least called GS to see what they were looking for? After all, it's his job. We've seen Doc manage Starbury well last season, I am convinced that a mix of Doc and our star players could do wonders for Jackson.

And for final thoughts...isn't it crazy how even the media is pulling for the C's to trade for Nocioni, when we could trade the same contracts for a much better player in Jackson? Interesting things to ponder...

I'm sure Danny called, just as every GM pretty much explores every possible scenario - I think it'd be fun to be a gm just to hear the crap offers you get on a daily basis

I don't think Danny's assumed lack of interest in Jackson has anything to do with his attitude.  It is because of his contract, which is a year longer, and about $15 million richer than Nocioni's.

I disagree completely.

Wasn't it GS who shut down Jackson when he was saying he could play towards the end of last season with that minor wrist injury?

I don't see how Jackson being displeased with GS's actions (or lack there of) is considered crying?

The guy is 30 years old and is in the prime of his career. He simply wants to compete for a championship, which in my opinion, is much better than all the guys who just care about themselves and post solid numbers on Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ty teams year after year.

He watched Baron walk, Monta disrespect his contract, and his franchise drafted a guy which simply clutters up the backcourt.

He was on a 29-win-team last season and simply doesn't want to be watching the playoffs on TV in April.
