I think Roy was right to paint this in a positive light because from what I've seen and heard, things are positive!!
Thanks, nick. That's how I see it. If KG wasn't ready to play and contribute, he wouldn't be out there. He's working through some rust and stiffness, but he's getting close to where he needs to be.
I guess I just don't understand all the hand wringing. Players have minor surgeries all the time, and come back from them just fine. Heck, Leon Powe -- a guy who performed brilliantly here -- had two surgeries much more severe than anything KG had. Amare' Stoudemire had microfracture surgery, and plays like an all-star (offensively). There are literally dozens of players in the NBA who have had more severe surgeries than having bone spurs removed.
I blame the Bill Simmons doom and gloom "HE HAD THE TENDON STAPLED TO HIS KNEE CAP" reactionary cries for attention.
(By the way, the tendon that was inflamed is *behind* the knee, while the knee cap is obviously in front of it. That would have been a darn weird procedure, since it would have essentially required the tendon to be streched another six inches and wrapped around the front of the knee. In other words: it didn't happen.)
