I can feel it. It is a contract year for him and he is going to breakout into a superstar in this league. Everything I have heard this off-season is how much better he is getting. How determined he is to be that much better, and prove everyone he deserves to be in the top 5 point guard talk. I am going to say he averages 17 PPG and 11 AST. A game. Since there is no real true PG backing him up, and him being in the league longer now i see Doc giving him more and more minutes. So what do you think of this prediction i have come up with!

11 assists are a little high and 17 PPG might be pushing it with all of the other scorers we have on the team however I do expect a nice jump in his numbers.

Season averages are one thing but what he does in the playoffs is what counts. I am with you though. I think by the end of this year we will be not only calling it the "big 4" but even though it will be hard to say many people will start to view this as "Rondo's team". The guy has all the tools and on a team of superstars its only logical to think that his development may have been hindered some by having too much talent around him. Not always hindered because it also allows him to develop parts of his game without the pressure but I think in ways it may also hurt him developing into a superstar. This season he will have added motivation with it being a contract year and I think both Doc and Danny will want him to play a larger role.

I have no doubt Rondo will have a big year. Honestly hope he makes the all-star team. He deserved that spot after Nelson went down last year. Mo Williams isn't half the player Rajon is.

I don't care for his stats. As I've mentioned before, better defense, better playmaking, better pace, better at timing passes, more accurate passes... in all better decision making.

I really believe, if anything, a combination of these things are holding him back. I really don't mind his poor shooting if he at least would make his defender pay for playing off him, and you don't need to be a shooter to punish him.

I really do think he'll put it all together this coming year... we saw flashes of it during the playoffs; he needs to do it consistently. Plus he was a bit banged up.

well, really Deron Williams deserved an All-Star berth way before Mo Williams or Rondo would ever get one....

that said, I think Rondo will make the All-Star team this year.

i'm gonna get Rondo averages 15 pt 10 ast 6 rebounds per game

He averaged 5 rebounds last year, so it's unlikely he'll average less than that.

I think 15 pts 10 assists and 5 rebounds is within reach for Rondo if he makes anywhere close to the "jump" that people are talking about.  The last two years he averaged 14 pts per 40 minutes and last year averaged 10 asts per 40 minutes.  Like I said, he already has 5 rebounds per game.  He's also good for 2 steals a game.

I think Rondo making All-Star will be more about recognition than anything else; after his amazing series against the Bulls this spring, I don't doubt that people will be paying attention to him.

I think you meant 10 assists and 5 rebounds, not the other way around, but I am with you- I think he will take another leap this year. I am REALLY hoping we get a deal done before the season, too, as his value is only going to jump. Maybe I am crazy and he will never be able to shoot a jumper, but even 'as-is', I love this guy.

15pts, 10ast, over 5 reb, and 2+ steals. That gets Rondo in the all-star game.

Plus he'll probably put up a triple double every couple weeks.

You expect a jump in numbers, but those numbers are too high?

Last year he avg'd 12pts, 8ast, 5reb. So this is estimating he pushes the ball more aggressively and drives the open lanes when they show themselves, if he does that he'll get to the FT line (and average jump shooters are average FT shooters). I think Rondo could easily bump his points up 5 per game. As for assists he'll now have Rasheed in there for Perk in key situations, theres your bump in numbers.

My "Guess"timate

16pts 9asts 6rebs 2.5stls

Posts a triple double on each of the following players:

CP3
Dwill
Rose ( TWICE 8) )
T. Parker
Mo Williams
Nash
Kidd

He gets amped up for games against these guys. I think he'll play passively against lesser competition. And the only guy that he CANT post a triple double on, that IS a premier PG, is Billups.
