love this team (communication)

I don't know how to phrase this better, but there's something that I love about this team and how they pull for each other and communicate with each other - maybe this happens on other teams and we don't know about it, but when KG talks, it is like he's an open book and we find out more about the team dynamics - I think it is great

example 1: KG encouraging Rondo

“I’m telling you, man, he’s looking great,” Garnett said yesterday of Rondo. “To me, he’s the best looking person in here, and we have some (good looking) people from Ray (Allen) to Rasheed (Wallace) to Big Baby (Glen Davis).

“(But Rondo) looks razor sharp. If you were to slide down Rondo right now you’d probably be cut. Seriously, he looks that razor sharp. He looks that strong. Today he was coming down on a 3-on-3 and he pulled up at the free throw line and was mad that he missed the jump shot.

“But he has the confidence,” Garnett continued. “I love him right now. He’s salivating at the mouth right now.”

Garnett’s advice to Rondo, who is negotiating a contract extension, is simple: Don’t back off once talks are over.

“You don’t just play with it during negotiations or when you’re trying to make a point,” Garnett said. “Every year you get a jersey you’re trying to prove a point, trying to get better. . . . Every year you get to display your art and craft, this is your mindset.

“I told him, man, just his confidence and how he’s looking (is good), and I’m talking about his mentality and the look on his face. It’s a relentless look. It’s a look that he’s ready. It’s a look that he has something to prove and he has a little chip on his shoulder. I told him, that’s what you play with.”

Garnett also supports the notion that Rondo is on the verge of an All-Star season, to a point.

“Absolutely (Rondo deserves that), but more important mentally (is that) he understands his role in running this team,” he said. “You don’t want anyone running off with personal agendas. I’m just telling you what I see.

“But he’s coming out leading us, and he’s setting the tone.”

example #2: Tony Allen talking KG about knee injury recovery

“The leg is going to tell you, or whatever is injured on you, is going to tell you that you can’t go - stop. It’s not going to be something you have to think about. I had a long talk with Tony Allen and he said, ‘Kevin, don’t think about the leg,’ and that’s what I’m trying to keep in the back of my mind. I’m not worried about anything, just getting stronger and better each day. I’m moving pretty decent.’’

I learn from you, you learn from me, we all get better as a team.  I love it.

Agreed, I love the quotes from every player, there seems to be a collective spirit and an excitement that was missing (or lacking) last year. I've the impression of being back to the early days of the team, in training camp 2007. Needless to say I'm more eager than ever to see the season start.

Well, he's an expert on getting injured, that's for sure.  The recovering part, I'm not sure about.

On a more serious note, didn't he return from his MCL/ACL tear pretty [dang] fast?
Not saying that he returned playing good basketball, but he recovered from it quickly.
