So at this point it's pretty clear we're never going to see this guy in a Celtics uniform, right?

I mean Swift and Seetney were brought in as possibilities but this guy's name wasn't even mentioned, so he's done I assume

He probably still has a few years left in his european contract. We might see him after that (I doubt it).

He's still only 23.  I think the plan always was for him to stay in Europe at least a couple years (scouting reports indicated that he was still pretty raw) before they thought about bringing him in.  I don't think anything has changed, they'll probably consider again next season if they think he has a chance to contribute - but I wouldn't count on ever seeing him here.

I wonder if they can trade his rights for something with value. Maybe a song or something

I heard that he was bangin' the crap out of Gasol in the European championships. He still has a chance. He's a big 7 footer and still young.

I think it's premature to write Erden off completely ... we should give him at least another two years before we go there.

Having seen him in the recent Eurobasket broadcasts, and unless he had an undisclosed medical condition at the time, my own assessment is that Semeh has about as much chance of making it to the NBA as Alberto Miralles.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
He's got another year on his contract in the Turkish league.  After that runs out, the team may at least bring him over for a look.

Or it could be Clifford Ray who turns this young man into a BEAST in the east!!!!

Think posetive, look what Ray did for KP_43's game and AL's game!
