If anyone is a fan of really hoppy ales, try Ninkasi's Total Domination IPA. Served on tap at my favorite movie theater here in Portland.

I understand that Oregon breweries have a reputation for overly hopped beers. Ninkasi does nothing to dispel that notion.

I prefer this:

Normally I would try to make some pithy remark about how you picked French red wine in a beer thread, but this reminds me I need to pick some up on the way home, so TP

I love me some of this:

If you're gonna get something from Stone, go with the smoked porter.

Another suggestion for the upcoming fall/winter.

This one's from Rock Art and packs a punch.  10% alc.  Its not called for the Vermonster for nothing.

I agree.  I almost always have a case of their regular IPA on hand and their Ruination IPA is even better (over 100 IBUs).

I also love pretty much anything by Dogfish Head.  All their IPA are amazing, especially the 120 Minute, which is 20% alcohol.

Victory makes a nice IPA, but not he Hop Devil, which is crap.  The Hop Wallop they make which comes out in January is outstanding.

Bells Two-Hearted IPA is also great, and named after an awesome Hemingway short story as well.

If you can find it, Alaskan Smoked Porter is absolute divine, Stone's a great beer (and one of the few smoked beers that's not too hard to find), but Alaskan is absolutely outstanding.

Greg Noonan makes a phenomenal smoked stout up in Burlington, at Vermont Pub & Brewery (he literally wrote *the book* on smoked beers).

Favorite overall is the Anchor Steam Winter Beer. Hard to find though. Other than that I like Wolaver's and Dogfish, everything by both

Good call on the Dogfish Head.  I can't do the 120 (too strong for me), but I like the 90.

we're having a 6 pack party for oktoberfest (in october, annual bday party) and the idea is bring a six pack, then give away 5 beers to try 5 new ones... I love trying new styles, flavors and brands

if I had to give an absolute favorite, domestically I'd have to go with Sam's Boston Lager...import would be Boddington's, but there's so many good beers for so many different occasions/food pairings,

Anybody drinking this right now?  I really think fall time/Oktoberfest really is the best time of year for beers.
