The split voting in this poll worries me about the future of our universe.  There has to be something about Toine in The Book of Revelation.

Danny doesn't like Antoine... so he's not gonna bring him in. It's kindof like how he likes Robert Swift therefore he can't admit that he sucks.

Eh...  The thing is, though, Danny *did* bring back Antoine, and he passed on Robert Swift.  I think Danny's decisions are shaped by who he thinks can help the team win, rather than by personal likes and dislikes.  If he thought Antoine could help the Celts win games, Antoine would be here.  However, from everything I've seen, Antoine is massively out of shape, and presumably washed up.

When exactly did you see photos of him the last time being out of shape, let alone play basketball? That was probably a long time ago, and you don't know how he designed his life ever since. By the looks of the last photo I know of him, dated 12 days ago, he looks in pretty good shape playing basketball with T-Mac. And who told you Danny isn't considering him? Maybe now that he is back in shape, Danny thinks he could actually help?

Keep holding out hope, P2. ;)

Here are the last pictures I've seen of Antoine:

Antoine is looking pretty pudgy there, and those were taken what, two months ago?

Last season in Memphis:

He just doesn't look in NBA game shape.  Since he had problems with weight / conditioning in Miami, and off-season workouts have never been his strong point, I doubt he's transformed his body in two months.  Especially, of course, since the most recent report has him hanging out in yet another casino.

Also, Antoine's most recent foray into organized basketball didn't inspire me with confidence:  http://www.spike.com/full-episode/antoine-walker-goes/32412

I really just wanted to be the first to post another Antoine Walker thread today since he's the first topic on Hoopshype Rumors. He said he had been invited to 4 training camps, and I wonder if Boston might be one of them. Here's my view on him..

Why for Boston? He's been here before. He knows the position. He's a fan fav. And we've got the Big 3 to knock sense into him.

Why for #8? He's in debt and will work for the vet min. He's bound to be out of NBA shape so no other team will offer him more than that. Boston would be the best case scenario for him to either fight for backup backup SF minutes and towel waving duties from Scalabrine and now Sheldon Williams.
The last phrase I would ever use to describe Antoine is that "he knows the position".  He may have been a PF on the lineup card but he never played like one.  I don't think he's seen the paint in a decade.

What I mean by "knows the positions" is that he played a SF/PF his whole career. Rather than having Tony Allen try to play bigger as SF(and he can hardly do SG) we can have an experienced vet in Antoine do it.
As for being in shape, the Pros vs. Joes show was recorded more than awhile back. He has since been reported by other agents as being back in shape. The mugshots show no signs of "chubbiness" as my friends and I called him Chubby Antoine vs. Antoine Jamison.
He at least deserves a work out. My view on this is that if he can prove himself worth 5-10 mpg, then Scal becomes expendable WITH Tony Allen for a larger trade piece closer to the deadline. There we can bring in a better SF or Taller better SG.
Can't stop, Rondo!

Me, too.   Dickau is meh.   Marbury is just plain flat-out Strait-Jacket NUTS!

Antoine is just....Antoine.  And I can live with that just as long as it keeps Marbury away from this team.

PLUS, it would be a NON-GUARANTEED deal....So if, say, the C's decided to give him a shot(not that they will but, theoretically speaking), and it doesn't work out, then they say "Thanks but no thanks" to him.  If it does, then they can sign him to a very BASE-level 1-year-deal to see what he can give them....

If anything, it's a far cry from having to pay him 4-5 mill per year, you know....
