I think he would be a good fit and a good compliment to Eddie House on the defensive end. We can probably trade Tony Allen for him and the Clippers might be willing to take him(they are the clippers after all). He's 6'6 and a solid ball handler, can play solid D, he's just overall "solid"
Tony Allen straight up for Mardy Collins works out salary wise..
here's how I see that going:
scene: Boston Celtics headquarters, Danny Ainge's office. Danny is sitting in his plush leather chair, dialing the phone, when we hear:
Danny Ainge: Hi, I'd like to offer you Tony Allen [click]..hello? hello?
to make it simple, just cut and paste this with any Tony Allen trade offer anywhere.
to this point, i'd guess that danny has now offered tony to pretty much everybody in some trade or other, and obviously been turned down.
collins has been a popular topic here over the summer due to the potential fit next to house, and the many PGs on the Clippers roster, but you'd have to guess than danny or his team has probably tried to cross this bridge (among many others with tony) and failed.
i'm not ruling out tony having a productive camp or season. he's just not valuable to other teams for an equal length contract. he may be valuable to teams looking to shed future salaray as the season goes on. but that's not collins, sadly.
