You know what I would pay good money to see?  Dan Ickau trying to keep up with Rondo in practice.  Did they invite him to camp to make Rajon feel better about himself?  Maybe RR's a little sad because they didn't offer him an extension and looked into some trades, maybe they figure abusing the little guy will make him feel better.

Seriously, Dickau could be backing off RR a good thirty or forty feet and I don't think RR would have any trouble getting to the rim.  I'm thinking Ray Allen v. Sasha V in the finals, x100.

How much fun would that be to watch?

39 Points and 16 assists! He's a beast! Plus, look at the beginning of the video. He's friends with Scalabrine, what more could you ask for?

Atkins, Dickau, Lue...they are quite similar: good ball handlers, small, good shooters...and not known for their defensive abilities. But did Marbury do much more than that for the C's last year? At least these guys can shoot (Dickau in particular is quite good at that)

Atkins, Lue, et al...  not know for being good defenders, but Ickau was a *shockingly* bad defensive player when he was here.  I don't think I've ever seen anyone who is worse - and it's not like he wasn't trying, he seemed to be TRYING, he just could not stay in front of ANYBODY.  I'm not sure he could have defended a typical high school player.

I have no problem with them bringing him into camp, they'll be a few of these kinds of guys given the opportunity to win that last spot (Robert Swift seems inevitable).  I'm wondering if they're waiting on signing a Lue/Atkins type so that they can get one of those guys to just agree to a camp invite instead of having to guarantee a contract.

It seems Dickau's still deciding whether to come or not:

"After being invited to training camp with the Celtics last week, free-agent guard Dan Dickau has yet to make up his mind on whether or not to join the team. Dickau's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said his client will decide by the end of the weekend whether to accept a training camp invitation"

By the way, we've heard of many players trying to make the last roster spots around the league such as JR Rider (NJN),Lorenzen Wright(Hou)...and no mention of Robert Swift anywhere... ::) :o

I wonder if it's because of this strange (but kind of funny) interview:

I think the Swifty situation was resolvd with the Shelden Williams signing. The rumors died down rather quickly after that didnt they? I guess he could still be a Celtics training camp stiff/invitee.

Yeah, you're right...but isn't it strange that his name hasn't been mentioned at all after the Summer League? Did he do so bad?
