Can't say I love it, but I don't think it's horrible either.  If he beats out Hudson, so be it.  Honestly, except in some pretty extreme circumstances, I don't see any backup PG available playing on this team.  Would I still prefer someone else over Dickau?  Sure.  But there's probably better than a 90% chance it won't matter anyway.

I'm all for having Heather on the Dance squad, but this seems a little too much to pay for her services.

I see this as good news for Hudson.

He has been given a chance to earn the spot.

Or bad news for Hudson because if he isn't good enough to beat out Dickau, then he needs to re-evaluate his career decisions.

Atkins, Dickau, Lue...they are quite similar: good ball handlers, small, good shooters...and not known for their defensive abilities. But did Marbury do much more than that for the C's last year? At least these guys can shoot (Dickau in particular is quite good at that)

Maybe it's a make good contract just to bring in some PG competition for training camp. We could be seeing a lot of rumors that say the Celtics are signing people but it all could just be to bring in extra bodies for a tough training camp.
This is pretty much what I think.  Ainge is getting bodies in there that he knows and trusts to have a good camp.  He doesn't want to bring in unknown projects.  I think he's comfortable with what we currently have if we have to go with it.

If nothing else, maybe Hudson can learn from DD when to shoot, when to pass and how to handle the ball.  Heaven help us if DD can teach Hudson anything about defense.   ::)

Maybe it's a favor to the agent. His guy get's a look and it gives us an experienced body for camp and  ;), a favor later. He'll provide a pg to run team 2 when Daniels is SF and House SG, while getting Hudson some tutoring. As I recall DD (and not in a good way) can't play defense and wouldn't get off Doc's bench, so paying him what he would take, plus the Luxury tax (so total double his worth) is bad financially. Don't count Hudson out, the guy can score, plays defense and is YOUNGER.

Atkins, Lue, et al...  not know for being good defenders, but Ickau was a *shockingly* bad defensive player when he was here.  I don't think I've ever seen anyone who is worse - and it's not like he wasn't trying, he seemed to be TRYING, he just could not stay in front of ANYBODY.  I'm not sure he could have defended a typical high school player.

I have no problem with them bringing him into camp, they'll be a few of these kinds of guys given the opportunity to win that last spot (Robert Swift seems inevitable).  I'm wondering if they're waiting on signing a Lue/Atkins type so that they can get one of those guys to just agree to a camp invite instead of having to guarantee a contract.

Lol, you've been a glass half empty guy when it comes to the young guys as of late Nick.

His arms look scary short.. Is he like a dinosaur or something? He moves slower than my grandmother, who is in fact a dinosaur.

I don't know, I think he looks more like Paul Rudd.  That guy is hilarious, let's bring him in, we already got McLovin too!
