Here is the rumor from Marc Spears' Twitter :

"Celtics considering signing veteran journeyman guard Dan Dickau, who played with Boston during the 2005-06 season."

Uh... what about Lester Hudson and the last roster spot? :-X

Maybe it's a make good contract just to bring in some PG competition for training camp. We could be seeing a lot of rumors that say the Celtics are signing people but it all could just be to bring in extra bodies for a tough training camp.

I think this is right.  We'll probably be hearing about Robert Swift soon, and maybe some other summer leaguers.

Dickau couldn't play defense back when he was with the Celtics before and I doubt he's improved in that area since then.

Dickau tore his achilles if I remember correctly--didn't play very much when last he was here---at least he can hit free throws.

I'd rather pickup Juan Carlos Navarro.

Oddly enough when writing in the Chucky Atkins thread I almost mentioned that Chucky was nearly as bad defensively as Dickau but decided against it figuring that Dickau at this point was irrelevant to the NBA> I guess I was wrong, but they are both horrible defensively!
