I was relieved to hear KG state that he was ahead on the schedule of his rehab in early July, at Rasheed's introduction to the team.

But the fact is we haven't seen KG play ever since he got his surgery and I'm starting to get worried. I'm usually optimistic and I still think that KG will be fine this season, but still... listening to Bill Simmons' latest podcast with Chad Ford and claiming that he was really concerned about KG's knee bugged me because he is right, we know nothing about Garnett's health except what he said (and I tend to believe him but "ahead of the schedule" is quite vague...).

The only footage of KG training after his surgery is watchable in the following video, at the 0:53 mark :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDnVHehxKIY

And here is Paul's quote about KG : "He's looking pretty good. He didn't play... but he's out there doing slides, the weights, he's on the treadmill. It's almost like having a new acquisition."

What do you think? Should we worry that KG hasn't played yet?

He looked slow on this video... and that makes my concerns grow.

Edit : Also, I forgot the fact that the team basically signed 3 new power forwards during the summer could be a bad sign about KG's knee... or maybe it's just overreaction and overthinking but it was a point discussed in the podcast and it worried me too.

It is just being prudent, not just about KG, but about KP (shoulder) and Rasheed (age).
Celtics fan for life.

3 new PF? Sheed and Williams. That's it. We lost Powe and Moore, so it evens out. We don't have any more bigs than we had a year ago.

I'll let any concerns wait until we see video of training camp and pre-season. Until then, I'll take KG on his word.

We didn't have Moore at the start of the season, but we did have O'Bryant, who was clearly a project who wasn't ready to go at the onset.

After watching the short video of KG, he is definitely dragging his wrapped leg. At the moment, he does not look fluid. I am surprised. The injury might be worse than the Celts have reported.

They haven't been fully honest about the injury from the start.  Pretty much all of us were led to believe it wasn't as bad as it really was.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Watch the video again. Doc Rivers is present, no? Can coaches attend drills before camp? Look closer at the guy under the hoop. He resembles Leon Powe.

I say its old vid.

.0061 posts per day?

Will you give me a star if I get up to .1 per day?

They might have it wrapped to restrict his movement. We won't know anything until at least preseason.

Coming off the bench.

Yeah, that did make me throw up in my mouth a little. Maybe he's just talking him up for a trade?

If Paul thinks he can play, who are we to argue?

I think you are right to raise this as a concern.

That is definitely not new video footage and I dont think that the offseason moves hint at anything regarding KG's status.  I think we actually have one less PF on the roster this year than last because we had Miles at the beginning of the season as well as OB and Powe, those three are gone and we have replaced two of them with Sheed and Williams.

All we can do is go by what is being said and hope for the best (which after the playoffs last year and the info we were given is definitely tough to swallow).
