I still haven't figured out who I want to see win this Cincy / Pitt game.  I think Pitt will win, though.

I'll be pulling hard for the Huskers tonight, and Alabama this afternoon.

I'm pulling hard for all teams in Red today:

Go Huskers, Big 12 Championship!

Go Bama, SEC Championship!

Go Everett Crimson Tide, EMASS DIV 1 Superbowl!

As much as I like Tebow and sorta Urban Meyer I like Bama and Racker and am looking forward to PSU beating a more prestigious Bama in the future.

I really really want to see Florida and Texas lose cause I want to see what happens

Also another subtly major thing today.

Notre Dame states they won't go to a bowl due to "unique circumstances"

I don't see what's so unique about Notre Dame not wanting to lose a bowl to Fresno State or Air Force or something and end up with a losing record for the second time in about 3 years prompting a Jimmy Clausen to go pro, as opposed to wanting him to have some hunger to come back next year with a chip on his shoulder. Granted they could win with Clausen throwing for 400 yards and 5 TDs, also prompting him to leave along with Tate

If I'm a Notre Dame player I'm a little ticked saying "I didn't come to Notre Dame to not go bowling when I'm bowl eligible"

Oh Jimmy Clausen. Who'd have thought. He comes to Notre Dame as basically the top recruit of all time flashing 3 high school championship rings after exiting a limo at the College Football Hall of Fame.

After three years he's gone to one whole Bowl, which was the legendary Hawaii bowl and has a 3-9 season under his belt.

Kids. Let this be a lesson unto thee. Think "Redshirt"

I'd think you'd see a Alabama/TCU national title game.  Definitely the case if Pitt beats Cincy.

In that scenario, I think your Boise State team gets frozen out of the BCS, though.

So, halfway through the second quarter, is it fair to say that Cincy was overrated?  Or could they mount a comeback?

In these conditions, I don't think the Bearcats are coming back.  Still a lot of time to play, though.

As long as Pitt's running game is firing on all cylinders, its gonna keep Pike off the field. That's the way to take down a high octane offense.

Well this is the thing. I'd rather see a non-BCS team in a championship game than two non-BCS teams in BCS bowls. I'm afraid if Florida loses they'll move down to #2 or #3 and bump TCU somehow out of the championship picture.

I like BSU, but I'm not married to em. We all gotta make sacrifices. I can't figure out if TCU would have an easier time beating Bama or Florida so that's hard for me to figure out. Obviously a dream for me would be TCU not just going to the game but winning it. I'm not sure if an amazing game like BSU/OK would be best or if blowing them out like Utah v Bama would be best. It seems BSU/OK generated more positive feelings whereas killing them would just generate some debate about overratedness and parity or something.

I don't know. There's no good answer. I just want a [dang] good story to tell my kid and grandkids around the campfire some day, even though I don't camp.

I just don't see an SEC Championship rematch in the National Title game.  This scenario was presented 3 years ago with Michigan/Ohio State and, thankfully, the voters chose to put Florida ahead of Michigan.   Between the voters and the computers, I just don't see them putting a rematch in the title game.

I agree, but I'm having an equally difficult time seeing a non-BCS team in the championship.

If you had asked me three weeks ago (partly after reading nick's explanation and having a difficult time sorting out college football reality) I would have said a barely bowl eligible Notre Dame was more eligible for the championship that an undefeated TCU, but now I'm sorta trying to wait and see, even though I still feel that way

The system might be imperfect but not to the point that a 6-6 Notre Dame team would be anywhere closer to eligible for the championship than TCU.

In all likelihood, TCU is just a Texas loss away from playing for the national championship.  If Cincy comes back to win this game (which I don't see happening) I still don't think they leapfrog TCU.

I don't think a one loss team would be in the championship over an undefeated TCU team.  However, if Cincy wins this game, I think they'd vault over TCU.

Its tough to gauge.  Some pundits predict that Cincy will jump TCU while others say that Pitt's loss to WVU last week might hurt Cincy's computer ranking enough to prevent them from jumping TCU.

Cincy's performance up to this point today isn't exactly going to endear themselves to anyone. If they lose, its rendered moot.

Gotta give it to the Bearcats, they're certainly resiliant.
