Someone said that a man should only put there hands on another person in self defense....well, Merriman may very well have been defending himself.

And yes, Merriman may have been defending himself.  We will see.  Chris Brown was not defending himself.

Merriman is 6'4" and 250lbs (or so)
Tila is less than 5' and i would guess around 110lbs...
She didn't have bruises on her arms (which would make sense if he was trying to restrain her) and he did not file a report that she attacked him.

thats exactly what I mean. Why is he the bad guy? She pushed him until he couldn't take it and then he acted to discipline her. Then she got a little banged up and everyone judges and rushes to ruin his image. If she acted like a lady she wouldn't get beat like a man. And thats why i think merriman is innocent. tp for you.

you know, I see these, and I just hope you are very very young. One of the more ignorant and offensive things I have seen on this blog. Imagine this conversation about 150 years ago:

"Why is he the bad guy? Dang slave pushed him until he couldn't take it, then he acted to discipline him. Then he got a little banged up, and everyone judges and rushes to ruin his image. If he acted like a good negro, he wouldn't get beat like a dog. And that's why Master Butler is innocent."

Or maybe

"I'm aware that he whipped him. I just hope this is investigated further before everyone judges Master Butler. For instance, did he sneak attack his slave or, or was he aware? Did he start it?

I mean, those above quotes are reprehensible, right? And certainly the situations are not identical, but they are analagous: there are extreme power dynamics (social, legal, and physical) and issues of subjugation, ownership, intimidation and control. We would never stand for the two examples I wrote, but somehow we tolerate just as disgusting attitudes toward women. It's inexcusable.

Thats pretty messed up, you act like because she is his GF he has the right to physically harm her.  Definitely one of the most despicable things I have read on here in a while.

Listen, agree to disagree. We could debate this all day because people seem to feel strongly one way or another. I am of the belief that if the woman knows its coming, a strike/choke attack is fine as long as it's for the purpose of teaching. Rewarding good behavior is pointless if poor behavior isn't punished firmly.

Maybe Merriman is stronger, but she's small and nible and may very wall have the speed edge. sometimes, rapid weaker strikes can outperform a hard but slow Merriman blow.

Again, feel free to disagree, and refrain from personal attacks.  Our differences as a blogging community makes us interesting. Let us manage our relationships as we like.

It's a stupid thing to joke about, and our rules specifically prohibit sexist "humor".  I'm not sure exactly what's funny about repeatedly advocating beating up women, but if you're going to make "jokes" like that, do it somewhere else.

That goes for everyone else, too.  Further instances of such "humor" will result in suspension.

Well, the article reports her lawyer saying it's spin and false, the article itself doesn't make that claim.  The truth is as usual probably somewhere between their two stories.  Domestic violence is no joke, but given that no one knows what happened, no one got hurt, and they both seem like horrible people, I can't really pick a side on this one.

Also, claimed tila weighs 93 pounds.

Is that with or without implants?
