bored today, so here's my list of recent training camp "stars" that never made the team

PG: Will Bynum
SG: Dahntay Jones
SF: Brandon Wallace
PF: Darius Miles
C: Esteban Batista

6th man: Kevin Pittsnogle
7th man: Jackie Manuel

did Brandon Hunter actually make the team?  I remember when he had a cult following

I fully expect Robert Swift to join this list

Brandon Wallace made the team, technically. He was on the roster until about midway through the season but just never played a game.

You could add Curtis Borchardt and Qyntell Woods to the team, though and they just might win a couple D-league games.

Hunter made the team.  He had one or two monster games (regular season) where he looked like a more-cut version of Charles Barkley; went for 11 points and 16 rebounds (11 offensive) against Toronto, had a few other really good games for about two weeks.

Qyntell Woods never made it to camp, I don't think he was EVER in Boston.  He was as pure a salary fill-in as it comes, they wanted nothing to do with  him.

Is this just players who didn't make it out of camp?  'Cause no "Training Camp All-Stars" list can be complete without Kedrick.

I completely expected Esteban Batista to be another Marc Gasol. Ouch.

This could be a deep team... How about Khalid El-Amin?

Akin Akingbala had the best name. I was sad when he was cut because I thought A king bala would look sweet on a jersey. However, if he couldn't make those 05-06-07 Celtics teams (I forget which one), he's probably not good at all.

Does Brian Grant qualify too? He's some solid frontcourt depth and we had him at one point albeit briefly.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

  • Rondo = Good
It's too bad we didn't keep Will Bynum...he turned out to be a really good backup PG for Detroit.

Unless this is a different Will Bynum?

Nope, same Will Bynum. Wish we never signed him, he was the reason TA tore his ACL the first time and got into all that legal trouble.

And I remember when we signed Akingbala.. A lot of hype. Not because of his playing style, but his jersey would have been a top seller, for sure.
