I thought this was pretty awesome.  I love how he tried to apologize after the game saying it wont happen again.  No duh it wont happen again,  I doubt that punk doesnt see the field ever again, he is a senior I think...  And then going after fans,  it looked like a WWE Match, or like Ron Artest suited up for Oregon.

yea i saw that, should be suspended for a very long time.

Does show the dark side of making potentially immature young kids who just laid there entire lives on the line do a mandatory hand shake 30 seconds after a contentious game though. Even worse when the two teams are rival and been talking smack all week.

I remember when the  everyone shake policy was announced. I was like "seriously? we think with all the media hype of how you need to want to rip your rivals throat out that having them shake hands in front of 100k people is a good idea NCAA? We don't see any potential problems here?"

I just thought the out break would be say, like after some incredible upset (like Michigan over ohio state in ohio state level of upset) not after a rivalry game between the ducks and broncos.

I thought we might get a little farther into the season before 2 morons from opposing teams started jawing at each other , and i certainly didn't think it would lead to a clean knockout shot like this one. but i can't really say im suprised.

Gotta give blount that, got him right on the button from an odd angle.

They're lucky that didn't get out of hand, as in an all out brawl. Looks like Blount just ran up there solo and knocked the dude out and then ran away before anyone could get back at him.

well, not really.

Blounts still a punk, but the guy he hit, if you watch the video and read the accounts, walked up said something in his ear and patted him on the shoulder with a big ol' smirk on his face (which you can still see as fist impacts chin) and went over to talk to to of his buddies who were laughing their butts off while a coach tries to explain to them why they should mabey try to show more class in victory then "slim to none"

As the deadspin article says, that in no way, shape, or form excuses blount or should have an impact on the suspension he so richly deserves for the cheap shot, but its not like he just randomly decided to punch hout's teeth in.

Hout was being an immature moron. He just ran into a even BIGGER immature moron in blount.

EDIT: anyone else find it funny that the 8-12 bosie players don't react much at all. Either they are all super disciplined or hout is not exactly the most popular bronco in the locker room. Not exactly a mad rush by the bosie kids to avenge their fallen comrade hehe.

What's with all these athelete with "La" or "Le" in front of common first names?

As for the punch, I thought it made it's message, they guy was mocking him right in his face and putting his hands on him.  Of course he'll be suspended or whatever.  It's hard to take a side, I guess he was running his mouth the week prior.  Thought in sports you shouldn't be punching other people no matter what they say (except boxing obviously).

I also think the Oregon state white guy with a bald head...looks like a bouncer (actually when they are that huge, they are techincally "splatters")..he did a great job of putting himself in between the two parties and making those 4 guys decide "brawl or let it go?"

That was LaGarrette Blount who punched a Boise State player in the post hand game shake after an Oregon loss. He is a Senior so that is the end of his collegate career. He was projected to go in the 2nd round of next year's draft. Now he'll be lucky to get an Arena Football league contract.

Way to go blunder boy.

Label me impressed with Oregon's swift exercise of justice.

Thoughtless move carries a major consequence with it.  Good.

Somebody will take him. Just in a later round--not because they're scared off, but because they know he will drop lower than he would've because of publicity reasons. You can't take a guy early in the draft when he's committed a "social/PR" faux paus.

And I completely disagree with all of you. No one should ever have their life shaken to the core for a single mistake, especially when they were bated into it. He's obviously a good guy who took the loss and his poor performance hard. Then some (expletive) on the other team get's all arrogant and in his face, generally just being a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline., and it pushes him over the edge.

It sickens me that that tard from Boise isn't even being punished at all. Totally unfair.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

He's obviously a good guy

That's absurd. He's not "obviously a good guy." What in god's name would make you think that sucker punching a player on the opposing team, taunting or not (and Blount did PLENTY of taunting--publicly, I might add--prior to the game) makes it obvious that someone is a "good guy?"
