Here is where we will conduct the rookie draft for our Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball Head to Head League.

The draft will take place on Thursday, September 10. The first pick will be due at 12:30 Eastern time (9:30 Pacific).

Each of you will have 10 minutes to post your pick in this thread. The time listed next to each pick is the time the pick is due. Any GM who fails to post a selection by the deadline and who has not sent me a sufficient list of preferences will be assigned the best available player based on the results of the actual 2009 NBA draft. [Example: the team with the #8 pick fails to make a selection by the deadline, and both Ricky Rubio and Jordan Hill are still available. While Hill was picked #8 in the actual draft, Rubio was picked at #5, so he would be the default selection.]

Any college and international players who declared for the 2009 draft are eligible to be picked. This means that the pool of eligible players is larger than the 60 players that were picked by NBA teams in the 2009 NBA draft. Rather than post a list of available players, I'll simply link to the results of the draft:

It would soothe my anxieties a bit if people could respond to my PM, so I know we'll have activity on draft day.

Based on the low number of responses, I am going to make a slight change to the draft, to ensure that we don't have to run through it again.

Instead of being skipped, any GM who fails to post a selection by the deadline and who has not sent me a sufficient list of preferences will be assigned the best available player based on the results of the actual 2009 NBA draft. {This was how things were for last year's draft, and I think it worked well.}

Although, it raises the question, would a team even be able to keep the rights to Rubio? He's not likely to end up on the list of Yahoo's available players, i.e. Krstic or Pargo last season.

In other news, I'd still like to move up from 18 and/or 32 in H2H. Get in touch. Also interested in a possible 2 for 1 to deepen my bench.

If a team kept an open roster slot open for him all season long, yes. This would be the only way, since Yahoo! won't add him to the list of available players until he appears on an NBA roster.
