I really would like Ronald "FLIP" Murray. Scorer and veteran.

If NO, then who other than a PG?
Williams and BBD solidified the bigs I think.
Flip Murray is terrible.  Even in his "prime" when he was scoring tons of points on the Sonics while Ray was injured people out here in Seattle hated him. You had to watch the games... ballhog chucker who made his team lose.

I gotta agree with this.  Murray is just not a good NBA player.  He can't defend, and he can't run an offense.  And worst of all, he is a volume shooter who can only really score by taking a ton of shots.  Just not what this team needs.

He is like an unlovable version of Eddie House.

I, sort of, disagree with some of things being said about Flip Murray. I agree with those criticisms being true for most of his career, but I do not think they accurately describe the Flip Murray we saw last season.

Murray put up 12.2ppg in a little over 24 minutes a night, while putting up a true shooting percentage mark of 54.3% which is a solid mark. In the past, Flip had TS% marks of around 48% and was clearly a chucker who didn't help his team. But this wasn't a problem for him last season. Also, Murray has been a solid defender for 3-4 years now.

Now, was last season just a freak event? A career year that will never be approached again? Possibly ... which is why Flip hasn't been signed by anyone, and why I'm only somewhat interested in him ... but if Flip can repeat the season he had last year in Atlanta, well then he's one of the better backup guards in the league.

He signed with the Nuggets for the Vets minimum.

Like Jon said, we don't necissarily need a point guard but it would be nice to have one as insurance. Bobby Jackson is still available, I say we offer him the vets minimum. I've always liked him as a player and god knows he got screwed out of a championship in 2002 so it'd be nice to see him win one.

Bobby Jackson has the heart of a champ.  He puts it all out there every time he steps on the court.  Love him.  He's a bit of a speedster though, and I think this team's strength lies in the half court offense.  Not a perfect fit, but I have no complaints with him.  Please, no Tyronn Lue.

B-Jax is going to be perfect for Celtics, I mean there is no one left better than him out there

giddens certainly isn't a pg, flip murray a 2 and far less of a PG than Eddie, this conversation is all over the place--choices in free agent market would seem to be --Arroyo, Bobby Jackson,   KG's best friend Ty Lue ( a 3rd stringer but good influence) Jacque Vaughn(SP) (another good influence who can't really play) or a trade--
another question  would be whoever gets brought in have to outplay Lester in the pre-season--or would we guarantee a vet and tell Hudson to walk without seeing what he has??

Looks like according to Steve Bulpett that Daniels is being signed with the LLE. So, whoever comes aboard, if anyone does, to play backup PG it will have to be for a veteran's minimum or via trade.

Jackson wouldn't be bad.  He has the playoff experience and might actually give House a run for his money as far as the playoff rotation goes.  I'd take him over Hudson for the last spot.
