That doesn't make a bunch of sense to me, and I doubt this report is accurate. They already have Rose, Hinrich, and they already signed Pargo this offseason. Where are his minutes coming from?

Arroyo said all of his focus was on his national team at the moment, and that article doesn't really say anything that the other one didnt, with the exception that they added a number.

First off, TP for the lonl3ly toaster artwork ...
Second, I agree that Arroyo signing with the Bulls doesn't make much sense given the apparent number of PGs the Bulls have.  Add Lindsey Hunter to the list of PGs...

Mabye the Bulls plan to play the PGs in offguard type roles?  Heinrich and Pargo can play at the SG:
Rose/Heinrich/Deng at the 1-3 with
Arroyo/Pargo/Salmons coming off the bench is pretty deep (at the 1-3)

Hinrich will end up playing SG I guess while he's with the team. More likely they'll end up moving him in the end. They've been trying to for quite some time now. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually it got done.

It makes no sense since they have Rose, Hinrich and Pargo.

I think we will know by the end of the week (sounds familiar, huh? :-X) where Arroyo has decided to sign and hopefully it's with the Celtics.

"The Bulls are not looking to sign Carlos Arroyo.

Rumors swirled over the weekend that Chicago was looking to sign Arroyo, but the Daily Herald reports that no such plan was ever discussed.

The Herald points out that the Bulls have Kirk Hinrich, Jannero Pargo and Lindsey Hunter to backup starting point guard Derrick Rose."

If it's not the Bulls...maybe it's us  ::)

Ah, thanks. Glad some people are feeling the "art"   :D

That plan still doesn't make a lot of sense to me, though. That's a five guard rotation, they're going to have at least two guys crying for more minutes. Salmons can play the 3, but I still don't think he really has a big enough frame to play there full time. Hinrich is well deserving of all the minutes he can possibly get; Pargo is kind of an Eddie House mold, he's just a gunner that needs minutes and the ball to be effective; Arroyo is more of a real PG, but then again he can't do anything if he isn't getting minutes.

This might all be moot, though. The new articles are saying the Bulls haven't offered a deal, and I believe that. Although in today's sports world every team in every league has adopted the Belichick Rule and never disclose the real info, so I guess you can't be too sure.

He would look good in Green.
For one year, absolutely.

He has a reputation as being a locker room cancer though.

Definitely agree... All we need is him for a year or two.  So I would be all for signing him.

I know they were trying to trade him, but I always had the impression that was just because his salary slot would be better used for Ben Gordon in the minds of management. Now that Gordon is gone, maybe they use Hinrich as the SG off the bench or part time starter.

With Deng back healthy this year, I think he gets mostly all the SF minutes while Salmons plays SG. That doesnt leave too many minutes after Hinrich gets his 20+ as a combo guard backing up Rose and Salmons. Does Arroyo play ahead of Pargo?

Maybe, but it seems like they sign another SG if they want depth in this area.

It just doesnt make much sense to sign Arroyo with the present depth in the Bulls backcourt.

can the bulls offer him more money than we can? i just can't understand why a player like Arroyo would pass up a chance for media exposure and a championship in boston for a 6th seed at best. in either town, he'd be backing up an elite PG, so it's not like he'd have more or less playing time in either place...hmm.

I'm not sure the Bulls are trying to trade Hinrich. If they really wanted to move him, he would have been gone by now.

They should be trying to trade Hinrich ... but I'm not sure they are.

Hinrich has said that he came close to going to Portland. I think they're shopping him, but are willing to wait until they get some better offers.
