I certainly hope so, every 2 weeks we hear news that this deal will be done by the end of the week....this is so annoying especially for a paranoid fan like me. Just get the deal done already! As if every single opportunity hasn't been explored already.

While I do believe he will join the team before training camp, I still dont understand why the hold up. I would think that all possible scenarios have been explored by Danny regarding a sign and trade with the Pacers by now, including the third team options.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that another player has possibly caught Danny's eye and he is waiting for some scenario to play out. This leading to a domino effect of signings with the sequence determined as players become 'no longer available'. I dont have a clue who these players would be however, so this could be a big reach.

The fact that we havent unloaded anyone (Tony Allen) and that their name hasnt been in the news leads one to assume that Danny is planning on keeping him ( Tony Allen) for this year at least until the trade deadline as part of a bigger package.

That is just dumb. Not you, but the idea(if that's what Ainge is doing) I dont see how his 2.5 mil contract could make any sort of huge trade that isn't already out there. The possibility of trading for Stephen Jackson is the best possible scenario, b/c I highly doubt Noiconi ends up in green. Maybe we could work out a 4 way trade that gives us Stephen Jack and Marquis...

Trade away Eddie,Scal,Tony and Giddens plus cash and draft picks and we end up with Capt Jack and Daniels plus prolly see one of our traded players get bought out and resigned here.

I completely agree, the comment was meant as sarcasm.

I would love to see a 'Celtics spare parts' trade for a decent rotation player, but for some reason no one wants any of our parts. You would think that there is a team out there wanting to shed salary for expiring contracts.

Maybe it is still too early for that to happen.

He will absolutely be a Celtic by training camp.  I put the over under at September 20th.  I think they won't pull the trigger too far before that unless they can get a very favorable deal, but if they wait too far after that, it could become a distraction.
