Not going to try and be a bias Celtics fan, but Rondo is better than that for sure. And Rose is NOT in the top ten discussion yet. As for Nash, he's on a fast decline and wouldn't put him ahead of Rondo anymore.
Can't stop, Rondo!

OK - here is my list of Top PG's

1. Chris Paul
2. Deron Williams
3. Tony Parker
4. Chauncey Billups
5. Rajon Rondo
6. Derrick Rose
7. Monta Ellis
8. Steve Nash
9. Jason Kidd
10. Baron Davis
11. Devon Harris
12. Andre Miller

My best guess is that Rondo is a top 5 PG as we speak. If he were to move up any higher, he is carrying too much load for the Celtics.

  Isn't that a fantasy website?
From the content of the article I don't think this is for fantasy purposes.

I guessed it was when I saw Perk at like #20 on their list of centers. Maybe they guy's just an idiot.
Yeah pretty much.

biased, not bias (bias is a noun, biased is an adjective, Bias is a guy who set out franchise back 20 years)

That is my biggest grammatical pet peeve ever.

My biggest spelling pet peeve is when someone says "I hope the cavs loose", I see so many of the eras on this blog. Then the person says "sorry it was a typo". No, that is not a typo.

That's another bad one indeed; I think we should tag team and become the spelling gestapo? Thoughts?

Personally I could care less about this kind of stuff - for all intensive purposes its' a mute point.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I'm with all of you that say he is fifth, but eighth isn't horrible. At least this guy gives Rondo some credit.

I am not crazy where he ranked Garnett (third- behind Bosh and Nowitzki)- yeah, I guess he was injured at the end of last year, but he really should be the top PF. Here is the excerpt on him:

3. Kevin Garnett, Boston - If healthy, and you have to believe he will be given the time he's had to recuperate, Garnett is still just a year removed from garnering MVP consideration as the league's top defender. His numbers have suffered from sharing the wealth in Boston, but his resume sure hasn't. Even at 33, he's still one of the NBA's most dynamic game-changers when he's right.

Baron and Nash's stocks are dropping fast.

4. Chauncey Billups
5. Gilbert Arenas
6. Steve Nash

Jameer Nelson fell a little bit low for an all-star.

I have to say Chris Paul #2  :o
Why do you think Deron Williams is the best?  Mind you I can see an argument for him at #2-4 easily.  So just asking.

There's really on four PG's that are clearcut better than Rondo. Chris Paul, Williams, Parker and Chauncey. You could probably argue that Rondo is a better player than Billups, but that guy just has such a knack for making teams significantly better and getting deep into the post season you have to give him the nod.

It's really just my personal preference.  I like Deron's size, a thing many PGs are lacking in the league.  He's not as fast as Paul, but he's right there.  He's a better shooter, and I think he's more clutch.  He seems stronger going left than Paul does.  A lot of Paul's steals come from risky defense, whereas Deron's defense is more fundamental.  Also, Paul relies a lot on pure speed.  If he was ever to catch an injury that affects his speed, he will in trouble.  Whereas Deron is a little more versatile, and could even make a switch to SG.
Chris Paul is clearly more popular, and has the better stats, but I don't think that says much (mostly that he has an arguably better team).  I think Deron is just straight-out more talented, and he will end up having a better career.  That's not to say Paul isn't directly on his heels, and I think Parker and Billups are right on Paul's heels too.
