Suppose if you're going to take the chance of any position player getting hurt, Nick Green's not a bad guy to risk.

I wish I had access to each of the games on TV. Since I live in New York I always have to wait for them to play the Yankees, or I have to catch it on fox whenever they show it.

He was supposedly throwing the FB 88-90.

Gave up 3 walks, but he did fine

I saw it, it's nice that he didn't give up any runs but he was very lucky.  He only threw fastballs, he was mostly wild, and luckily every time he got hit, the ball went right to a Sox player.  He helped himself a couple times with some slick fielding.

Victor Martinez really saved him from a wild pitch on more than one occassion, as he was all over the place at times.  Not blaming him at all (after all, he's not a pitcher), but he wasn't as excellent as some reports are making him sound.  He did the best he could given the circumstances, though, and it was cool to see him get through the 2 innings relatively unscathed.

Fortunately starting Tuesday this won't be an issue as the rosters expand and they can call up some bullpen help from Pawtucket.

I do wonder...  did he get the call because he's the best "pitcher" among the position players, because he used to be a pitcher in high school, or because if he pulled a Jose Canseco and blew out his arm, he'd be the guy we'd miss the least?
