Antonio Daniels isn't a free agent; he's got one year left on his contract with the Hornets, I believe.  I haven't heard about a buy out.

Marquis Daniels has been linked to the Celts, with both his agent and Danny Ainge saying he's agreed to come here.

As Roy said that couldn't be possible.  Did you happen to hear the whole thing or did you just catch a part of it?  What were they talking about?  My guess, as Roy said, is that they were talking about Marquis.  But maybe there is some sort of trade in the works.  Here's a link to Antonio Daniels stats just for the heck of it:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=183

He's 6'4, 200 pounds meaning he could guard the SG on the other team.  Other than that, there isn't much to be desired.  Either way, unless this is happening with a trade, this is an impossibility.

You're probably right, disregard.

I sure hope we can get Antonio Daniels depending on what we'd have to give up.

Perhaps he messed up and meant Marquies Daniels is going to sign with C's. If we got Antonio Daniels though I would be all for it!

Also Tony Allen and Brian Scalbraine for Daniels straight up works. Perhaps the hornets are part of our 3 way deal?!

I've been pushing for a TA/Scal/Giddens for AD/JWright deal for a while now. The two Daniels, House and Wright as perimeter bench players with Sheed, Davis and Shelden in the front court, plus Walker, Hudson and maybe a young big man in the D-League and/or making spot appearances in case of injuries. Not much 3 point shooting off the bench, but more bodies who can play defense. New Orleans gets a couple of options at shooting guard, which they need after giving away Butler, and doesn't take on long term money either.

Rondo    A Daniels   Hudson
Allen    House
Pierce   M Daniels   Wright    Walker
Garnett  Davis       Williams
Perkins  Wallace     ??

I've said I prefer Marquis as a backup guard, but I'm a lot more comfortable about him playing the 3 when there's at least one big guard (Antonio) next to him and one bigger body behind him at the 3 (Wright still needs to develop, but he has shown defensive stopper ability and has a big, young, athletic body that would be useful against guys like Lebron, Lewis, and even Odom.
Go Celtics.

Julian Wright is a highly talented lottery pick, and Daniels has an expiring contract. This is a total pipe dream.
