What about bringing in Desmond Mason?

6'5", 31 years old, atheltic, can shoot, can get to the rack and finish, still has some hops left in him, would be willing and be good at being a spark off the bench. a good guy, would do good things for the community,

I like a bench where you could have a Marquis Daniels a Rasheed Wallace a Eddie House and a Desmond Mason coming off of it.

With the Thunder not resigning Desmond Mason, does it make sense for the Celts to sign him. He doesn't fill our biggest gap (back up PG) but he would be another wing to back up Paul and Ray. His best years may be behind him but he would another Slam Dunk Champ on the C's (our 4th overall Gerald, Nique, and Dee Brown). Thoughts?

I'm with Roy and Toaster. If Mason can only lay bricks, we don't need him (sorry for the pun)!

At this point, I would rather give the PT as 4th wing to Walker, and keep a roster spot open to add a shooter later on, rather than signing Mason.  He is a decent player, but he is a pretty terrible outside shooter, and doesn't bring the size that Walker brings.  With Daniels and Wallace in the mix, I think we have more flexibility to be able to give the kids a chance to prove they belong, before bringing in a retread who cannot hit a 3 pointer.

This is why I liked Bowen.  Even if he is not the defender he used to be, he was still shooting the 3 at a decent clip last year, so he would stretch the defense when they need it.

I agree that we need somebody who can shoot for our final roster spot, but, contrary to T.A, Daniels and Rondo have qualities that will help the team, even though it's true that the three of them are terrible shooters.

Not only do we need someone who can shoot the ball, if we are not going to get a back up pg, then we need a player on the wing above 6'6.  Really how many 6'6 and under wing players do we have right now? Hum....All Of Them!  Can we please balance the roster and get 6'7-6-10 wing player that can shoot the basketball.  I wish we could have gotten in on thar Rasual Butler deal.

Nope, a poor shooter and the rest of his game isn't good enough to make up for that fact. A bad fit.

I'm interested in Ime Udoka or Keith Bogans.
