Still whining over Powe?  LOL  The guys is not that good and he's injured and not likely to be the same when/if he recovers.

"Blame Danny for Tony and Powe"? It's more like "Blame Danny for not being psychic and being able to tell if the Tony gamble would pay off or not, and blame Danny for actually getting a sizable upgrade in the front court this offseason and not wanting a 6th big who is undersized, has a 1 dimensional game, and has a bad history of past knee injuries already."

that'd be the longest topic title ever, but it sure as heck is better than "Blame Danny for Tony and Powe". My gosh guys, you'd think Powe was the leading scorer, rebounder, and assist man on this team. Powe is gone, he's not coming back, and I'll be surprised if he's ever half the player that he was with us again. He was a great guy, but so were Wally and Raef...guess we shoulda kept them too  ::)

I got a feeling Powe will be alot like Smoltz.  A contender picks him up for a price that they think is a steal but in the end, the team letting him walk knew what they were doing.

Celtics owned his Bird rights and used that to give him that 2 year $5 million contract. Personally I would have preferred they had let Eddie and Tony go and signed Roger Mason or Mickael Pietrus with the full MLE, but that was just me and yes, go back and check the record, that's what I was calling for last year.

Neither of them were worth the full MLE.

I doubt he means the full MLE, at least not with Mason... but for Pietrus, he'd surely had to be offered the MLE or something near it. Not quite sure he's worth it.

We have the best team in the league right now in my opinion if we are healthy.  Yet we're crying over a career bench player.

This Leon Powe love is getting so over the top that it's starting to be greater than the 'Toine love, but at least 'Toine was the face of the franchise at some point for good or for bad.

If you love Leon so much, why don't you marry him?   ;)

Blame Danny?

Blame Danny?  He is the primary reason the Celts are now contenders, and have won #17.   His decisions are not perfect.  He gambles.  Which means sometimes it is not going to work out, but it might.   Powe was a gamble. Ray Allen was a bigger gamble, because KG was not a sure thing.  DA jumps in and takes a chance, when the rest of the GM's play it safe.

If you blame DA for not being perfect, then you are saying he cannot, and should not gamble.  His gambling got us to where we are.  And I really hope he continues to play the game.   Although the stress of gambling in front of the Boston crowd takes its toll.   Not sure how long he will continue with it.  And that will be the day things start to decline.

If I could, I'd have his babies.

The entire off-season last season was a mess.  Luckily, this summer has been a lot better.

The main difference between last summer and this summer is that there are better players available now.

The Leon Powe love has surpassed the Jiri Welsch love at it's peak, which I thought would never happen..
