No problem, ET.  We won't snow people with a lot of BS.

We don't think you were a seven seed; you're in the top five teams in the West.  That being said, of course we like our team better, but it's unfortunate that we even had to match up this early.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Jefferson needs the ball more than duncan to be effective because he's the better offensive player and the best offensive option on the floor.

That said, Al Jefferson rebounds better than Tim Duncan, so its not like he just scores then falls asleep under teh basket until the ball comes back down.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but you are over rating Tim Duncan...the unoverratable Tim Duncan. Shame on you.

You don't think perhaps it's Al Jefferson who is becoming just SLIGHTLY overrated here?? Rebounds better then Duncan, better offensively then Duncan? Why the hell did we trade this guy for Kevin Garnett?? Minnesota made out like bandits in that deal.

FIRE DANNY AINGE! HIRE KEVIN MCHALE!

are you contesting that Al Jefferson scores and rebounds better than Tim Duncan?

Tim Duncan, during his illustrious career, has shown that he has the ability to do whatever the team needs to be done. If the construction of the team means that he has to dominate the glass, he will do it. If he has to shut down the opposing teams best big man, he will do it. If he has to outscore his opposition, he will do it. Proof? 4 rings, with him as the francise piece for 3 and a half (David Robinson helped a lot with the first).

Jefferson has better points numbers because hes playing with freakin Telfair and company. Of course he will have scoring per game numbers higher then Duncan. He's the only chance the Wolves have to win. Duncan, surrounded by Parker, Ginobili, and company, doesn't have to score as much for his team to experience success. Jefferson scores like crazy through necessity, and even then his teams do not win. Al Jeff will get the numbers, because no one else on his team will. However, matched up with a motivated Duncan in the playoffs? No, Al Jefferson is not a better player then Tim Duncan. He is not a Phoenix advantage or a wash. Tim Duncan is a better option then Al Jefferson in the postseason right now, otherwise fire the hell out of Ainge for trading away such a prodigious talent for a 30+ year old who's never won a ring. Anyone mad about that trade here in Boston? How about if they traded that package with Jefferson and others plus number 1 picks to San Antonio for Duncan? Does San Antonio even listen? Not a chance.

Its a nice story. Too bad you've got nothing to back it up.

Al Jefferson scores more often than Tim Duncan does at virtually the same FG%. That doesn't mean he only scores because he has to, it means he scores because he can. Despite the instant double teams and questionable professional talent around him, he can.

Are you going to penalize Al Jefferson because he's the only good player on his team? Of course not. Is it outlandish to think that a 24 year old player who has shown nothing but promise could at this point in his career be a better scorer and rebounder than a player who has been one of the best players in the league for 12 years? No. Players get old. Its not Tim Duncan's fault, its not Al Jefferson's fault, and its not your fault but its a reality. My boy is what's up now, your guy is who is on the way out.

I'm not saying that Tim Duncan isn't still decent, Im just saying he's lost a step.

If you don't believe me, justify him not being able to "will" his San An team out of the 1st round last season.

He's gonna be 34 this season. its not beyond the realm of logic to say the guy with less miles and younger legs that gets more points and rebounds are better at those things.

I liked it.

Sadly, Roy's "You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you." statement is right. You're no 7th seed, you should've been 5th (with me being 4th :) ), but I don't think you're on the level with Roy.

Its not a worlds apart kinda thing. You're close. Just more like 4-2 close instead of 3-3 with a nailbiter 7th game close.

I will justify any one of the votes if asked without complaint.

Haha, i'm not going to make a fuss about this but it's pretty clear this is directed towards me.  It's no big deal, IP; i know retaliatory voting is part of the game.  I was going to wait you out and let you make your selections so i could avoid suffering that fate, but i'll be going home pretty soon and i got tired of waiting.

It actually was directed at you, but only because of the "we stole the SW" comment, so I was opening the door if you wanted to talk about it and felt like I didn't give you a shot. It was in no part retaliatory.

I ranked Houston 3rd in the seeding and I ranked Dallas 7th...fundementally nothing has changed.

Also I believe you ranked me 8th, so really we both voted like we had been. I didn't expect anything different from either of us.

Alright, well i'll take you at your word since you've been pretty forthcoming throughout this entire draft...

I guess i just found it strange that you had been online all day but hadn't posted your own playoff winners.  Perhaps we both just assumed the other would send in a retaliatory vote if we cast our honest opinion first.

Haha. The thought did cross my mind.

Actually I've been waiting to make sure everyone had their say. As you can see from the thread here, I had a LOT to say. I was annoyed when ppl voted without reading any of it, so I thought I'd make sure to let ppl have their say before I made any decisions.

That was pretty much how I would attack your team as the coach of my team. Now because no one else has commented on what I wrote I look forward to how you would attack my team from a coaching/match up perspective.

To the 29 other GMs and Edgar:

I'm hereby resigning my slot as co-GM of the Portland CrotoNats.  This game is no longer fun for me, primarily due to the behavior of a couple of individuals, one of whom has started conflict with no fewer than four GMs in this game.

At this point, I feel as though I can no longer both be a GM in this game and enforce the rules of this forum, as required by my title as Forums Manager.  Certain members are using my position as a GM to engage in rule-breaking behavior, including not limited to trolling, baiting, posting private messages, and lying about my actions to other members.

As such, effective immediately, Edgar will be the only GM of Portland.  I will continue to vote and to ask questions of the various GMs who have participated in this game in good faith.  I will not, however, be speaking on Portland's behalf.

Best of luck, and to the 25+ GMs who have made this game a pleasure, I give you my sincere thanks.

-Roy

Seatle/Phoenix and Dallas/Houston are close matchups. Interesting to see if more voting will take place to open it up more.
