Leon Powe discussions

The cavaliers said that Powe would be a backup for James but i just dont see that happening. Powe doesn't even have a jumpshot i know of and i see him best playing as a power forward. i am so curious to see how it would work out between the cavs.

I didn't see that quote; I can't imagine the Cavs are thinking of playing Powe at SF, especially after they signed Moon.

The only way this makes sense is if they plan on starting James at PF, but I haven't heard that, either.

I've been re-watching the Bulls series from this year and watched Powe pass up a handful of wide open 15 ft. shots before driving into traffic.  Bottom line is, he can only play in the pivot...period.

If he's coming in while LeCrab is out, good luck.  He and Shaq on the floor at the same time is a traffic jam in the paint waiting to happen.

Well there's a simple answer to this, LeBron is going to play a lot of PF this year. Still looking for the link, but I have the quote

The Cavaliers will search for a tall wing this summer that will allow LeBron James shift to the power forward position.

Potential candidates include veterans such as Grant Hill, Anthony Parker, Marquis Daniels, Josh Childress and Matt Barnes. 

That explains Powe being LeBron's backup.

  According to 82games LeBron plays about 1/4 of his time at pf.

It really would be wise if Cleveland played LeBron a little bit more at PF.  He can handle most PFs on defense, and Shaq is gonna handle most of the post work anyway (more so than Big Z).  It would make them look more like Orlando did last season.
