Why don't we get him? He's an unrestricted FA and we could most likely get him for cheap. He's exactly what we could use at the backup pg role.

I agree completely about Brevin, but i think J-Will could be the perfect piece... i just hope DA agrees with me.

Don't sleep on Lester Hudson either, i think this kid can earn those minutes in his rookie year.

Also: don't forget that the last time we complained about no veteran PG we didn't get one till halfway through the season... then we won the championship.

Jason Williams would be good too, but he's kind of a risk with coming out of retirement and his fg% in his last season wasn't good at all if i remember correctly.
I really want them to keep Lester, I think he could blossom into a solid NBA player and i wouldn't mid him taking the last roster spot at all.
And that's true about having no vet. pg, but hey, what could it hurt having one?

none of the free agent pg's out there really intrigue me.  i would prefer to package tony allen, scal, and giddens for a backup pg.

of the free agents out there, i think i would be most content with bobby jackson

several seasons ago there was a lot of interest by the celtics in Brevin Knight.  Supposedly Danny was worried about character issues with Brevin.  This was before the big three were brought together so who knows if he's be willing to take that risk now.  Brevin has been very good over his career in terms of assists and steal, but he can't shoot and he's much older now. I'd personally pass on him.

But that's the thing though, we don't need another shooter. brevin can pass, steal, play decent D, and score a decent bit. Plus we're not looking for anything long term, a 1 year contract with a solid player.
A trade for one would be perfect but for some reason I don't see that happening until the trade deadline.
Oh and bobby jackson can only score and that's not what we need.

Brevin Knight would be my 2nd option after Bobby Jackson. BK has a nice midrange game and pass first PG. Kinda short but still good. As for Jason Williams, he's way too rusted. He shot 30% in his Grizzlies tryout this week. PASS, gimme BK or BJ

Not all three of them for a pg, however. We don't need a $7M player backing up Rondo. Agree about Jackson.

I still question if a backup PG is even going to beat out House for the job.  I'd like to have a backup for insurance purposes, and I'd take Knight or Jackson, but if Doc wants Eddie's shooting in the game, I think it may come at the price of having him run the point.

i wasnt specific enough...i meant packaging any combo of them to receive a pg in return.  not necessarily all three.

Agreed. Get a vet for assurance God forbid Rondo or House get hurt. And with House on the floor, you know Daniels will be running the point. I'd prefer Bobby Jackson still, but Brevin would be doable. Brevin was my pick the 1st summer of the Big 3 to get as backup PG.

Yep. Whoever we are bringing in, if we are signing a pg, is to be the 3rd string/emergency pg - not the backup.

i have to disagree
I still think we can get someone
if we drop (like i am in charge..lol) one or two for a decent
natural pg
his duties reduces to take the ball half court and try make it happens
not a really tough job for a " natural' pg
he should find someone there who can score.
this team have enough  scorers now imho
