I think he would be a nice addition for emergency and specialty situations, which is all we need at this point with Eddie and Marquis. And that's not even mentioning Rondo, who should be playing 38 minutes a night, if not more.

Personally I want whoever is the best possible backup in case Rondo pulls a KG on us and goes down for an extended time. I like Iverson for that, but he has to buy into being a bench guy.

If not him I'm not sure these 34 year olds work for that, but Pruitt probably doesn't either.

Lue can be picked up midseason, if we were that desperate.

Marbury is a far better option,
though likely Ainge will wait and see what shakes out of many veterans camps, including our own.

I thought the idea of waiving Gabe Pruitt was to find a replacement that would upgrade the backup point guard position? Tyronne Lue, is not an upgrade...an upgrade would be the person who stepped over tyronne Lue!

if we are going to go after a pg at this pt I'd be looking for someone with size who can defend and won't turn over the ball AND can give us at the most 10 minutes a game (vet)
this is NOT Lue or Marbury
 I would expect Rondo to play good minutes this year with general improvements made to his game (which he has done every year) (not sure about fts)
Eddie can give us minutes, ray can easily bring the ball up and daniels seems to be another option

I think we should get a backup PG for depth purposes, but I question if anyone out there is going to give more production than Eddie House will at the spot.  House is not a point guard and has infuriated me over the years because of this fact; however, come playoff time, if he wants any minutes, they're likely going to have to come at the 1 spot.  And before people go bashing him there, don't forget that the House/Allen/Pierce/Posey/Garnett lineup was extremely effective in 2008.  Sporting a similar lineup with Sheed could work well in the whopping 8-10 minutes the backup PG will play in the playoffs. 

Again, I'd like a backup for depth, but I'm not sure this backup is going to get regular minutes if House hits the trey like he can.

not sure how feasible it is....but i would prefer to package tony allen, scal, and giddens for a backup pg. not sure what would be the market for incoming players tho.

Bobby Jackson? He is a scorer, not a distributor, not what we need in the second unit
Stephon Marbury? Is he even working out this summer? I can't imagine he'd have any time to work out with all that broadcasting. I don't want a rusty Marbury again. A rusty Marbury can still pass but he is a complete liability shooting the ball.
The only option that is comparable with Lue is Brevin Knight. But you still have your shares of ups and downs comparing the two. Lue is a better shooter while Knight is a better distributor. I hope Danny will sign a legit PG and not depend on House or Daniels...

I completely agree.  Even if Daniels, Ray or Paul has to bring the ball up it would be OK.  Eddie's shooting is lights out.  This team, with Eddie at the 1 and Sheed at the 5 with the Big Three will be nearly unguardable in the half court.  You can't double team off anyone.

I wouldn't want Lue.  If they get a point guard for the minimum I wouldn't mind seeing Bobby Jackson.  He was always pretty clutch for the Kings.

I'd rather see them get a backup SF who is 6-7 or taller.  I want them to sign Daniels instead of trade for them and then trade Scal and Tony for Posey or Nocioni.  Then they would be a big team who could shoot and defend.  Then add Jackson to fill the last spot.
