Yeah, I guess he went a tad bit crazy. He's just having fun. The Vaseline thing was for his throat. He cried because the song he was listening to reminded him of his dead father (God Bless his soul). He's human. People seriously take everything he does out of proportion.
Regardless, just because he's a little crazy, people don't want him on the team. Why? Last time I checked, craziness didn't take away from being a good basketball player. Bring up team chemistry and ego all you want, but he wasn't a nuisance at all in the locker room last year. I'd def. want him back.
And on his performance last year, I thought it was decent. I know Marbury still has more left in the tank, and he can definitely contribute and bring more to the table than he did last year. A full training camp with us could let his shot fall and could allow him to fully shake off the rust. I think that's what contributed to his poor performance last year; rust. I mean, come on, cut this guy some slack. He hadn't played in 1+ years. I'm sure any NBA player who went through his situation would have done the same. That, and he wasn't used to our system. This is a guy who was never really used to playing defense. He also came off sort of timid. I guess he was trying not to be a me first kind of guy, but it ended up being his downfall. Regardless, I'd still want him back on the team.
