Bobby Jackson said he probably won't be with the Kings much longer. The veteran guard told KCRA 3 on Friday "it's still up in the air" whether he'll return to Sacramento next season. The free agent played for the Kings from 2000 to 2005. KCRA.com

Ok. The guy is 6'1. Great backup PG. Slasher, 3 point shooter, pesky defender with nasty long arms, great free throw shooter. Sign him for vet min, or sign and trade him for Tony Allen to Sac. Use him along with House and Daniels. Then find a cheap SF like Bowen if need be to fill up SF if 1 of the 3 of them fall through.

Rondo, Bobby
Ray, House, Giddens
Pierce, Daniels, Bowen, Walker
KG, BBD, Scal
Perk, Sheed             Free agent spot for bench big
Can't stop, Rondo!

If Eddie had left maybe, but he didn't so have to pass.

Could be worth a look. Had some good starts last season; but has dropped off a little in terms of production. Still a solid vet if he can still defend. This is why I would like to see Hudson get a chance.

Sac has Udrih, Rodriquez and Ty Evans (assuming Evans can play PG)

Tough player; but is he 36 or something?

We got that guy in Shelden Williams.  Backup pg is definitely a need, but I could see Danny Ainge either taking a flyer on Hudson or letting House fill in as backup point where another player will handle the ball.  All this considering Rondo is extremely young and should (knock on wood) be able to handle heavy duty minutes this season.

I think DA would like to keep the roster flexibility with big expirings in TA and Scal at the deadline and with the luxury tax already as high as it is, won't want to commit to the additional salary Jackson maybe seeking, with respect to hudson or leaving the spot vacant.

He got close to 6.5 mil from Sac last year and will not get anywhere near that from them this year; but not sure he would take vet min. Don't know what more we could offer. Sign and trade for TA is a nice idea. Sac has Kevin Martin and Evans as a Combo so TA would be nice insurance for them.

wouldn't mind having Jackson, he's old but still has some game. Good back up or 3rd point but he might want more than min. He probably can't get more than that so we'll see....

Eddie is everything Jackson is at this point in his career from an offensive standpoint. Hudson is everything and more defensively. We need a pure point first and foremost to backup Rondo.

Yea, and Marquis Daniels got 7 mil last year and is taking a HUGE pay cut just to play here, so it could happen.

And yea I totally forgot about Sheldon when I made that list. Either way, taking a fly on House as PG is fine, but for assurance I think Bobby Jackson is twice as good as Marbury and Cassell were in green.

Eddie is everything Jackson is at this point in his career from an offensive standpoint. Hudson is everything and more defensively. We need a pure point first and foremost to backup Rondo.

No. Eddie is NOT EVERYTHING Jackson is. Jackson is better defender still and a slasher. Eddie can't drive in b/c he can't handle the ball that well. Love Eddie, but he's a spot up shooter.

My last idea here would be still be Sign and trade Tony and Giddens for Bobby Jackson and draft pick. That way we could free up a roster space for another player or 2

Rondo, BobbyJ, LHudson
Ray, House
Pierce, Daniels, Walker           F/A-Bowen?
KG, BBD                           F/A-Stromile?
Perk, Sheed, Sheldon

I say its a no brainer to sign him for the vet. min if he would take it and then our roster would be set.  I don't even think we need another wing.  We'd have Eddie, Daniels, and Walker to fill in only about 36 total mpg at the 2/3 spots.  Give Giddens a shot too here and there.  Our front court is solidified.  Bobby can effectively run an offense when Rondo is out of the game and also give Hudson a chance to prove something.

I agree that Eddie is not EVERYTHING Jackson is.  Eddie is very one dimensional.

I think the idea of a sign and trade would be great! If we could trade Allen and Giddens for Jackson and some change and open a spot for Bowen too! That would be an awesome way to end a great summer!

vey amusing.

first: bobby jackson is a ballhandler, and doesn't shoot the % eddie does.

second: lester hudson was the 58th pick in a weak draft, and has never played an nba minute. so if he's everything and more of any skill -- which is unlikely -- you, me and everyone else on this board will be the first to know. but it ain't happened yet.

The Kings are not adding salary for no reason; s&t not happening. jackson can and would sign for the vet min. i'd be all for it, despite his height. if we need situational defense in the backcourt TA will be sitting at the far end of the bench waiting.

Fine Fine. Can't get him in a sign and trade, so keep Tony and let him try to prove his worth in practice and see if he can return to his old self. Either way, we need BOBBY JACKSON!!
