looks like we pretty much have a good idea of what this roster will look like. i think tony, giddens and walker will all be on the team...PG is really the only question

PG 1. Rondo, 2. Hudson
SG 3. Ray 4. Eddie 5. Giddens 6. Tony
SF  7. Pierce 8. Daniels 9. Walker
PF  10. KG 11. Baby 12. Sheldon 13. Scal
C    14. Perk 15. Sheed

-scal and tony are kept until the trade deadline where they will be moved for whatever the C's feel they need

to me...this will be the opening night line up for boston. my next question is who will be the active 12??

I think you are right about the 15 players and agree that the big ??? is back up point.  In addition, I expect at least 2 other guys to be invited to training camp (one of whom is probably Robert Swift).

But assuming no further changes and all 15 are healthy, I expect the active 12 are everyone except Hudson, Giddens, Sheldon.

I expect the "inactive 3" to be a revolving door all season just as in the past.

Assuming no more trades, I expect it to be:

Perkins / Rasheed / Williams
Garnett / Baby / Scalabrine
Pierce / Bowen / Walker
Ray / Daniels / Giddens
Rondo / Vet min point / House

If that's the 15 to start the year, the 3 inactive players if everyone is healthy will be...

1. Hudson (spending quality time in Maine)
2. Shelden or Scal (will be Shelden to start the year, but they will battle for a spot throughout the year)
3. Walker or Giddens (just like last year, only 1 spot for them on the active roster)

A lot depends on how the Baby and Daniels situations play out.  That's about accurate if Baby re-signs and Daniels comes for the LLE.  But there could be trades involving both.

I think the Daniels deal will end up being bigger than we think and will include Scal & Tony with a Daniels and a pg coming back.  Just my guess.....which haven't been very accurate.

I agree exactly with this except as Eddie also as the 3rd string sg behind Ray and Marquis, with Giddens as the 4th as inactive and also like u have as the 3rd string pg.

I think there's a good chance that we end up signing a veteran minimum point guard and Hudson doesn't make the team. Other than that, I think cio's list is what we'll see.

Agree we try to trade Tony and Scal for another piece before the deadline, but I think the most likely scenario is: 1) we trade Tony to a younger team with cap space and pay his salary, saving the $2.5 in luxury payments and 2) find another team with space willing to pocket a half mil to acquire Scal and buy him out with our money so we can save another $3+ mil in salary/luxury payments. Then we pick up two more guys (maybe one of them is Scal after buyout) on minimum deals in the middle of the season.

I see the Bowen thing, but I just don't think we cut Tony outright, not with his salary and the luxury payments we'd have to make.
Go Celtics.

I wonder if Danny keeps a spot open for a guy who gets released at the midpoint of the season, ala Marbury and Cassell in season's past...

also, any insight on who that player could be...

from a cursory look, some ideas include:

Marcus Camby
Jermaine O'Neal
Al Harrington
Larry Hughes
Mike Miller

basically look here and see guys who are unrestricted (without an ETO), and think if they get traded to a bad team, will they get cut?

This is an excellent point and I agree. I think a 14 man roster is likely if we can swing it.

Rondo/House/Hudson
Ray/Giddens
Pierce/Walker/Daniels
KG/Baby
Perk/Sheed/Williams

I think we trade Tony and/or Scal soon. Wouldnt be surprised to see Giddens or Walker included and if they are then we add Bowen and maybe Swift.

The inactive will be a revolving door with Hudson at Maine, Tony or Scal and Giddens or Walker, depending on who stays or goes.
