The Suns were able to come to a buyout agreement with center Ben Wallace soon after acquiring him in the deal that sent center Shaquille ONeal to Cleveland. But small forward Sasha Pavlovic, also acquired from the Cavs, has not yet been bought out and is still on the Suns' roster. So what gives? "This one is a little trickier than most buyout situations," Pavlovic's agent, Marc Cornstein, told Sporting News. "There are two parts to it. First, for us, its pursuing a deal. Then, for the Suns, it's making him a free agent, and the two aspects are tied together." Sporting News

Cornstein said he is dealing right now with three or four teams whose interest he categorizes as serious, and a deal could come this week. He said that leaving the NBA to pursue a contract in Europe would not be an option for Pavlovic. Sporting News

I like this guys game. Good shooter, can run plays, great defender and can throw the ball down. I remember this one play(I think p---ed off Lebron b/c he didn't pass it back to the "King") but he drove in, went up for a dunk, windmilled it, and threw it down for a reverse jam. VERY NICE!!! The fac that he's NOT going back to Europe, and I don't think he'd want to go back to the bench of Cleveland says WE NEED HIM. 6'6 with long wing span. Better shooter than Daniels, so he could play back to Ray and Daniels backup Pierce, throw House where ever on the floor to hit 3, and they can take turns running the offense. yes?
Can't stop, Rondo!

Complete with some kind of crazy European rap. Speaking of which, yesterday I was riding around in the ghetto listening to Russian rap. That was fun.

Anywhoo.. Yea, I'd take Pavlovic over Bowen any day of the week. Hasn't he been injured a lot, though?

I have found myself agreeing with you recently Mike-Dub, but not here.  Would take Pavlovic over Bowen in a heartbeat (price pending, of course).
God bless and good night!

We caught a lucky break with the Bowen situation. He is done. As we all know Marquis is injury-prone, sasha would be a nice backup plan. He's a big wing who can shoot the deep ball. And he is not a liability defensively. I still like to see Bill & JR get a shot, but we can't bank on it.

Just an idea, if the thing with Daniels doesn't go through, or just for some back up on the perimeter, signing Sasha?  He's a pretty good perimiter scorer and does ok on defense (gives effort).

If the Celtics can pull off the sign and trade, I wouldn't mind him in addition to Daviels.

You can never have enough shooters off the bench.

Or just sign him to veteran's minimum. He's worth more but in this economic situation and late in the off season its not out of the question.

He'd be great to round out our wing depth.

Bowen doesn't want to come to Boston(yet). He probably wants to skip all the practices and season games and hopes to get signed before the playoffs as if he could come in and make a difference that fast...yea right. Figure out a way to get Pavolovic. I know he and Cleveland had contract issues last year, but He's good and worth it to a point. I know we have no money left, so a sign and trade would guarantee that he keeps all of his contract. Otherwise he could hope for a complete buyout and then signing the vet min would just be a bonus. He, along with Marquis, could get their paydays NEXT summer if they prove themselves with us once we win another championship.

I like his game in a shooters role, but is he worth 'unloading' Bill Walker or J.R.Giddens? We are evidently stuck with Tony Allen so trading one (or both) of the others for a draft pick may be the only way to clear space. That is the only way I see it happening, we just dont need that many wings.

I'd say Tony and J.R., are both virtually useless wings, and Bill Walker is quite a gamble at this point.  Also, is Daniels big enough to defend largers wings, (Lebron, Carmelo, Turkoglu)

He isn't good. Pavlovic was buried on Cleveland's bench almost the whole season. He also plays scared once the games start to get close. But he has a bad attitude and talks a lot of trash so he should fit in on Boston's bench.

I meant the sign and trade with Daniels to open up the roster space.
