we don't get Marquis Daniels through a sign and trade with Indianna and have to use the bi-annual exception on him?

Sure.  We can sign an unlimited number of players to the minimum (so long as we have no more than 15 guys at the start of the season).  Assuming Bowen would take that (and I expect he would) we could sign him.

Yes we can use the vet minimum.

No team is going to pay him more than that.

Edit: Of course Hobbs beats me too it...  ::)

Roy, ManUP, and all other CelticsBloggers what would u guys think of a signing for Bruce? I for one would love but only because of the Daniels acquisition... I would not want Bruce straight up... but I think him and Daniels would make a great backup 2/3 combination.

Personally I don't like Bowen because I think he's a dirty player, but I agree that in addition to Daniels he would be a good pickup. As a 4th wing who would get no more than 5-10 minutes a game he would work for the Celtics. He's a good catch and shooter player, plays solid defense, not to mention the championship experience. I'm sure a veteran who defends, and stretches the floor is exactly what Doc wants.

TY for the TP ;)

As an insurance he'd be great. I still would like to see JR & Bill play along side Marquis.

If they cut Bowen before tomorrow he's leave with 2Mil, so i think he'd sign for the minimum becuase he's already getting paid by the Bucks.

sorry..bit if cleveland signs warrick, they have 3 legit wings off the bench. i think boston invested so much time and energy in daniels, they lost out on warrick.i dont think bowen really adds very much to the puzzle....

i am just a bit concerned that the cavs offered warrick their LLE which is what boston could have done. it seems the pacers bogged down the sign and trade and in the end the LLE will have to be used on daniels. that solves only one problem on the bench...the baby thing has to be taken care of as well as a point. and i think it is obvious NOBODY wants Tony Allen so we are stuck with that screw up.

today danny needs to cut gabe. hudson is likely a D leaguer and then there is good ole bill walker and giddens...the wonder twins....danny has to decide to keep  or not. at this point he might need to keep them to match up with the cavs wings

Because we really need three wings on the bench.

i agree boston needs three wings on the bench but is bowen really one of them? boston also needs a point on the bench as well as 2 bigs....looks like danny still has a ton of work to do and it is getting late again. i am fearful he is going to revert to just waiting to see what scraps are left to try to plug the holes

I was actually being sarcastic, we don't need three wings on the bench. We really only need two for the regular season, and one for the playoffs.

I think Warrick goes to the Bucks though.

well i think they will have to sign daniels to the LLE anyway and they will keep PP, daniels and walker as the wings. so they prolly will have 3 wings. which is fine by me.

Agreed, don't forget Walter Ray though!

It could be JR instead of Walker as well.
