I don't know, but I start to believe that Daniels isn't coming here after all.
Why would you think that? We've heard nothing from either the Pacers/Celtics/Daniels camps that indicate that the deal won't happen.

A weeks has passed and nothing has happened? You've gotta be kidding me. This isn't too difficult to figure out. It' just a simple trade.

Other than it isn't just a simple trade.

I believe they said they were waiting until Earl Watson signed.  That said, makes you wonder.

If it is a simple deal, you can set parameters if he signs or not.

So what's so difficult? There are no trade restrictions on any of the players who could be involved. Except Big Baby is included, but I really doubt that.

The first thing is that the Pacers currently don't have Daniels in the roster, so they don't have much insentive to add salary to the roster. Secondly, the Pacers might not be interested in the players we're offering and the Celtics might not be interested in parting with some of our players, especially since it's been reported that we can just sign Daniels to the LLE. Then there's the Watson situation that has been speculated for a while now. So no. It's not just a simple trade.

But that is exactly the definition of a simple trade. In each and every trade, there are those discussion about who goes and who stays. It's probably Indiana trying to sell a pig in a poke, and Danny not accepting, but still trying to work something out. If that's the case... this could get very ugly. Just sign him for the LLE if Indy (Bird) is trying to be a smartass.

OK, here's the holdup:

Quote
The Pacers still are having ongoing talks with the Boston Celtics about a sign-and-trade with Marquis Daniels. The Pacers are thought to have interest in Tony Allen and J.R. Giddens.

If you put all articles together, Indy wants Giddens but Boston is pushing Walker. That could be the holdup. But it doesn't seem too much of a problem to solve after 7 days. So what's the deal?

The deal is that they may be waiting for Watson. The deal is that they're probably exploring options that haven't been reported. The deal is that they may be looking for another team to help the trade along. The deal is that they may not be in such a hurry just to help you sleep better at night hehe.

I really don't see what's so hard to understand.

Gabe is definitely not the holdup, as his contract can just be terminated (option not picked up) before August 1 .

I don't think I've ever heard of a team being so picky in a sign and trade. They should be happy with Tony and Pruitt.

I'm not at all happy with Tony and Pruitt.

So I wouldn't expect Bird to be, either.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Probably Danny and Bird started the negotiations politely talking about the family and the good old times and therefore, it took longer than expected.
- Hey Danny, do you remember that game against the Pistons?
- Of course, I do. Shouldnt we be talking about the sign and trade?
- Wait for a second, we can do it later... Let me just show you that I still have the same big shoot. Let´s go to the training facilities...

The only guy that I'd like from the Pacers as a throw in is Brandon Rush.  Maybe that's just me.  *shrugs*
