Bos Trades: Ray Allen, Scalbrine.
Sac Trades: Martin, Nocioni, Kenny Thomas

For Boston: We add a guard in his prime and we become very deep team with an unstoppable fast-break (Rondo + Martin).

For Sacramento: two expirings contract, that seems what are they looking for. Maybe we can add another player (ex. t.Allen, Pruitt, Giddens).

But Martin isn't over paid - he's underpaid, and he's their best player. Why would they want to "dump" him. I posted pretty much the same trade a couple months ago, and yeah, basically it won't happen because Martin salary is perfect for Sac.

But that's the point, they'd use Martin as the carrot to dump a ton of their bad salary.

Nocioni is overpaid.  I probably wouldn't trade expirings for him, because what you get for his salary is really a poor use of that room. 

That said, I believe that Sacramento would ask for a swap of Rondo and Evans in that deal.  Based on our salary situation if we made that trade ... we might need to consider that part of the deal.

Martin is 26, the rest of their young core - Evans, Hawes, Casspi and Thompson - are 19, 21, 21, and 23. When the rest of those guys are in their primes - in 6 years - Martin will be on the decline.

Plus, dumping Martin / Nocioni and buying out Ray almost assures them of a top pick in next year's loaded draft.

I still feel like we would need to take on Udrih's contract and send them some future chip like our 2010 first, but I am still interested.

That's a horrible way to run a franchise. Sounds familiar to what the Knicks have been trying to do - be as bad as possible for draft picks and have cap space for free agents. It's not going to work and it's bad for basketball.

Why not keep your best player and try to build around him.

Makes no sense from a Sac point of view.

That be like Boston trading Rondo for Jason Kidd.

I don't think Sac will be interested in this trade.
