So as I wait for Danny to knock me out of this funk I was wondering what you all use to get around town these days?

Car - bike - public transportation - other.

What kind of car or bike?  What do you like about it?  How many miles on it?

I for one have two Hondas.  My wife drives an Odyssey with over 100,000 miles (which we got 2 months after my son was born in 2001) and I drive an Accord with over 100,000 miles which we got 2 weeks before my daughter was born in 03.
sometimes you have to bite your lip, exhale and move on.  So, I have.

I just got a new Corolla S after driving a 92 corolla throughout high school and college.  Definitly an upgrade!

I bought a 2010 Subaru Forester at the beginning of the month.  Sure, a Subaru in New England is a cliche', but if I'm moving back to Maine, I needed something good in the snow.

I absolutely love it thus far.

03 Jeep Liberty.  Have 135000 miles on it now - no major issues.  It starts every day and gets me A to B.  Good in the snow and fairly fun to drive.  I'd rather have a porsche 911 Twin Turbo but....

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Bought a 2003 Hyundai Accent hatchback last March with 74,000 miles on it and it now has 110,000. Basically, something that gets me from point a to b with good gas mileage is the most important...and surprisingly, it can carry quite a bit, as I am finding out renovating my new house down here in FL.

Also, do the bike thing quite a bit, but that is more for exercise/fun than it is for transportation...

2007 Honda Accord. I went with the 4-cylander because the 6-cylander was an extra $100/month. It's got just over 50,000 km's on it.

If the commute is extremely short I'll strap on my helmet and get on my bike.

I also live right next to a bus stop :)
