Tinsley Someone???

Tinsley, who spent his first eight years with the Pacers, will become a free agent once he clears waivers in a week.

"This ends a very difficult period for all parties involved," president Larry Bird said in a statement. "We are pleased to have this resolved."

The decision to release Tinsley is surprising since Bird said several times earlier that he had no intention buying out the remaining part of Tinsley's contract.

Tinsley, who last played in a game in January 2008, was scheduled to make $14.7 million in the final two years of his contract. Financial terms of how much of that he'll receive were not announced.

Do you think it's a good backup for R2??? He will come for the LLE?? obviously not for the minimun...right???

I can understand the interest. But Marbury is the better player, and the better fit. Hopefully, he'll come to his sense & accepts the offer. Remember how rusty Marbury was, well this guy has been out even longer. I hope Marbury comes back.

from a skills perspective, he'd be worth taking a flyer on him for a 1-year min deal to prove he's ok to play.

from a personality perspective, this guy is a headcase and reputed locker room cancer.  I'd pass on him for that.

I'd rather have Marbury back.  If Marbury's not coming back, I'd still be hesitant to bring Tinsley in due to the personality issues.

Tinsley is a poor outside shooter and his defense isn't that hot either.  He's a poor man's Rondo.  So, I'll pass on that.  I'd like to get a complementary PG for Rondo, a guy who's a littler taller, can defend tall guards, and hit the outside shot/3.
