There really should be two categories:

The geeks (many of us fall into this category)

and

The over the top turbo super geeks (you all know who you are)

<kicking myself for not participating in this>  this has dark_lord written all over it, lol

I'm officially putting myself down for the hoops team.
I already made a post about the skills of my players on page 60, but here's a recap:

PG- Taz
SG- Echo
SF- Rogue
PF- Rodman
C- Jean Grey/Phoenix
Coach/Utility- Jesus

Literally unstoppable (except for Rodman).

team dragqueens..
and Taz

Of course your Coach Utility have my team a little scared

No need to worry about Jesus.  As you remember, he doesn't like to show off his miracles for trivial reasons.  I don't think he'd be a big fan of basketball, and would probably try to minister to the people in the crowd.

Zeus, on the other hand, is a vindictive, competitive and vengeful god, who would have no problem dropping 100 on you.

True - no knock on the Jesus, but he'd be too busy trying to "enlighten people" and "bring them closer to eternal salvation" to do much showing off on the court.  Meanwhile Zeus would be running around chucking lightning bolts up everyone's ass and knocking up the popcorn girl at halftime.

Also, Jesus would need to go the full 48 minutes.  If he came out of the game his teammates would always be wondering, "What would Jesus do?"  Way too confusing.  Not sold on Jesus the hoops player.
Why do you think he's coming off the bench?
Of course then we run the risk of having the other 4 guys on the bench follow him to the sub table.

No, I didn't say he's coming off the bench.  I'm saying you can't sit him down.  Do you have faith Jesus can go the full 48 on a nightly basis? With everything else the poor guy has to deal with, this might be asking a bit much of him.

Come playoff time Jesus have nothing left. That's all I'm saying.
I meant that's why he's not starting.
He'll just pray for the first quarter and come in for the last 36 minutes.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I was thinking that... Very surprised you didn't hop in, and pretty happy too not because I hate you but because that freed me up to draft Vader with my 1st round pick hahaha
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

DL if you want to pick up the scraps of BassThumper or one of the other incomplete teams fire away.

Does anyone have any more hoops team lobbying to do?

This weekend's pretty full for me, but I'll try to get a poll together in the next couple of days.
Yup

I hope someone has the guts to call goal tending on Magneto.
Unfortunately, the no props rule leaves him rather powerless.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa

The no props rule is lame in the confines of this game. By the way Roy, Thanos always loses, be it his attempts to garner a cosmic cube or unite the infinty gems, because he knows he is not worthy of the power. How are you gonna handle a megalomaniac with that kind of self confidence issue?

I think some props should be allowed if it's officially associated with the person, like Captain America and his shield, or Marlboro Man and his cigarette.
But for Magneto to just rip the seats out of the stadium and throw them at people is a little ridiculous.

I think this whole draft was a lot of ridiculous, so why stifle it?

I hear ya...I can foresee this happening again...The options are pretty much endless for types of "players" to draft etc...
