How did i give up my valuable 4th pick!!!!!
I'd like to make use of my wild card pick, and choose my captain, our Lord and Savior.

Clarification:  can our wild card be used on whatever we want?  Does it have to be one of the listed categories?  Or one of the previously listed categories?

Wild Card be anyone...Fiction, non-fiction, animal I suppose?  whatever you like
Yup

Pretty sure you're kidding, but um...well, let's not get into trades...I don't want to deal with rearranging rosters and orders and all that.

Sorry, not trying to spark a religious controversy.

Well...Roy and I discussed this a little earlier.  I think since there are many, many different version of God, then you need to specify which one you're choosing.

Then Roy raised the Trinity issue - are you getting 3 people if you choose Christian god?

Not sure where to go with that.  But I guess maybe we should leave "God" off the table.  Thoughts?
Yup

Does that mean we can't pick Zeus or any other supreme deity? And does that mean Jesus of Nazareth now only has super carpentry powers?

For wild card, I'm going with Zeus.

(I see we eliminated the mythical figure category).

Right, but i see Jesus as God in the body and flesh.  Would he be more valuable to me than say, a Jew, who views Him as simply a prophet.  It's complicated because Christianity is the only religion in which their higher power becomes man.  He's not exactly the same as Buddha.
And i was kidding about the trade, that'd get messy.

I think Christian God is already off the table since the Son has already been drafted.  Taking God generally off doesn't seem to work because what about picks like Zeus?  Deities are gonna come up one way or another with these categories.

PS I love the fact that we're discussing stuff like this.

Right, I drafted Jesus as a wild card because I believe he actual flesh.  Whereas in my opinion Zeus would be a fictional figure.  But say you're an ancient Greek and you truly believe Zeus was able to take human form.  I don't actually have a problem with Zeus being a wild card pick, It's just gonna be difficult to judge.
