RealGM reports it :

Quote
Lamar Odom will re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, coming to terms on a $40 million contract over four years, according to sources close to the forward.

The deal will likely be consummated when owner Dr. Jerry Buss returns from vacation in Hawaii.

[dang it]!!!!!

And you changed your picture Drucci.  Both things are bugging me out!

Oh well, they still have a tough SA team to try to fend off, and they are still not as good at the Celtics will be, imho.

Hey, I'm happy for LA and that takes away any excuses when we take them behind the wood shed in the finals next summer for no. 18.

Artest and Odom make The Lakers the odds on favorite to come out of the west, imo.

If true, Lakers will be heavy favorites to repeat. Which is good, I love our guys in underdog role.  We relished it in '08.  Will again.

Interesting that this was one of the main stories on ESPN.com today:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4347050
Quote
Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is optimistic the NBA champions will re-sign key free agent Lamar Odom.

"I'm optimistic that he'll be back," Bryant said Wednesday at a news conference in Singapore as part of a six-country Asian tour. "He makes us a much, much stronger team."

Oh, and also if this is seriously starting now and I have to listen to a whole season more of this and see a season's worth of Nike puppet commercials I'm going to puke:
Quote
Bryant, an 11-time All-Star, said a possible showdown against LeBron James, former Lakers teammate Shaquille O'Neal and the Cleveland Cavaliers in next season's Finals would be "crazy."

"Just the hoopla that surrounds it and all the stories that would come out of it," Bryant said. "If that match up is to happen, we have to take it one day at a time, we can't get caught up in it being a given that we're going to be in the Finals.

"We have to take care of our business, but that being said, it would be a heck of a show."

I know he was just responding to a question, but it's not even the pre-season yet and we have to hear about Lebron and Kobe finals.  My god I hope the Celtics are scary good and repeatedly crush both of them this year.
