Is it just me or is anyone else getting a little worried about this Daniels signing? It's been about a week now since this story broke and yet nothing has come of it. At first, it was said that he would be delivered either by S&T or by signing a 1.9 million a year contract?

Why has neither one of these happened yet? Also, why is Boston even trying to acquire him by S&T if he stated that he would come here for 1.9 mil a year? Wouldn't it make more sense to hold onto the expiring contracts and nab someone else down the line?

Sorry, been gone for awhile (vacation in Tennessee) and this is my first time getting a chance to post in awhile. I am sure these same questions have already been addressed and answered in other posts but I just don't have the time to go looking through all the various threads. LOL.
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.

Well because if we do not do a S & T, we are basically saying we are done with this offseason excluding whatever happens with bbd.

I'd rather keep the BAE for another player.

they are trying to acquire him for longer than one year, which is all he would sign on for with the LLE.

there's also the factor that vagrant mentioned, they would prefer to keep the LLE open for another bench player.

don't think this is right, crownsy. the LLE can be 2 years. meanwhile, the Cs are probably willing to pay him a little more if they can get rid of some deadweight on the roster to pay a little less lux tax and keep the LLE for another player. so they're probably waiting on Bird to decide if he wants TA or Scal.

He might not want the LLE for 2 years.

1. He'll probably only take a player option on year 2
2. They can save significant money with a S&T b/c of the luxury tax
3. They can save the LLE for other guys

Who knows what's going on with the S&T and any other guys.

right, it can be two years, but from what ive heard is that if he's going to be here longer than 1 year, he wants more than a LLE.

Either Indy is trying to rip us off and not doing a s/T, or this S/T is glued into a multi-team trade.

Yawn, details are just being hashed out. It's negotiation. Daniels has already committed to Boston through his agent and agents don't confirm these things unless legit.

Hopefully, the more we wait to sign Daniels the better the sign & trade or his contract will be, interest wise for the C's. I would like to see Daniels under contract with Boston for two years, which would give us some stability for our bench with Sheed and Daniels signed for "long term".

The pacers are probably waiting on earl watson.I believe he has to clear waivers before signing. The proposed celtic trade will allow the pacers to fill there roster on the cheap. When watson signs, they will know who they want from boston.

Right, this was it. I remember reading it somewhere. But they probably know what the deal is. So I guess the trade goes down on Friday, when Watson clears waivers and signs with Indy.
