But more important than absolute skill is the fact that Warrick fills an important gap on this roster - a true swing forward to backup Pierce match up against Lewis/Smith/James off the bench in the playoffs.

He shoots 22% from beyond the arc, shot just under 50% last year and only averaged 5 boards a game. There is no ounce of efficiency or hustle in his game. This isn't James Posey people.
So he's not a three point shooter, shooting 50% isn't bad at all. His true shooting is a respectable 55% and he rebounds at a better rate than Pierce.

I don't think we'd be able to manage a sign and trade for him.

Rebounds at a better rate than Pierce?  What does that actually mean? I guess he's better rebounder than Davis as well.

It is always interesting to see how players from other teams are viewed by C's fans.  If he took the LLE maybe, he is like fine gentleman said previously the 7th best player on the Grizzlies..

agreed re posey. i see him more as a versitile scorer and potentially dynamic weak side defender (you heard me). he's not a 3 point shooter, and i don't want him to be -- that's what sheed and eddie are for. he CAN become a better team defender and he has great length.

the LLE? i'm sorry but this '7th best on the grizz' thing is an arguement signifying nothing. if you've watched him play, you know that he's a dynamic scorer and a very difficult guard. who would rather have wiht the ball in the post, baby or warrick? easy answer. the only guy on the second unit (without leon) who can create his own shot is daniels, and i'm dubious of his injury history.

He rebounds at about the same level as Davis actually. It means he isn't a bad rebounder for a SF. I don't like Warrick at the PF spot though, too slight.

Grizz rescinded his qualifying offer. He's now a UFA. Offer him the LLE now, see what happens (he'll probably get some of another team's MLE, but you've got to at lest try!)

He's a FA now, the Griz took back the QO.

Can't until the S&T with the Pacers is done.

they could still be interested in a sign-n-trade for him, and as i previously mentioned they're very thin at gaurd. considering this is chris wallace, i wouldn't be surprised if they'd take TA and giddens for him.

but clearly they wanted to create the space in order to sign someone. probably iverson, which would probably remove the s-n-t possibility as i don't see what else we have that would interest them.

and i don't see him taking the LLE. dispite all the ludicrous stuff being said on this site about the guy he has the potential to be a really good player in the NBA. he's a proven scorer and in the right environment i think his on-the-ball and weak side help defense could be strong.

if moon got 3mil i can't see warrick taking less. but i guess daniels has shown willingness to leave a little money now in order to shine in a good situation and make more later -- maybe hakim would do the same.

but what are danny and larry waiting for on this daniels deal? makes you wonder what they're cooking up.

I am under the impression that they non tendered him to get cap flexibility.   Iverson and David Lee fit the bill there as does taking back components in a deal for Boozer.
