I am just curious.  I haven't seen him play, but apparently Doc doesn't think much of him.  I mean Giddens can't even beat BWalker for minutes...

So, I was wondering why does JRGiddens seems to get more love than BWalker?....

Just asking....    :-\

What hype?  How many JRGiddens threads are out there besides the one you just made?   ???

I'd have to wonder where you see more love for JR Giddens. While a few people may feel that way, far more people here hold Walker way above Giddens.
Go Celtics.

redacted for stupidity on my part.

I think they are both about at the same point in their progression and hopefully 1 of them is good enough to get some minutes this season.  I think they are both underrated by most C fans.

Because I think he's the better player. And i don't think there's any hype for Giddens, just a couple of people that like him, hardly hype.

Good defender, good passer, strong finisher, high energy, long arms, blocks shots, unselfish, highly athletic, great rebounder, can post up. Even so, needs to work on his jumpshot, freethrows, and a bit on his defensive footwork and probably his rotations, and ballhandling (which he shouldn't be doing much of anyways).

Well, saying "Doc doesn't think much of him"  isn't that much of an argument.  Many people still don't think much of Doc, even though he "coached" a championship team.

Giddens has talent!  Highly recuited out of HS signed with a big time program at Kansas.  Personal issues forced him to transfer, not performance.  Look at his stats with NM.  Improved each year.  I say, give him a chance, we sure did for Tony Allen.

I honestly don't see how much different his skillset is from Trevor Ariza's.

As I remember it, there was a lot of hype about Bill Walker last season and hardly any at all for Giddens.  So now that Ainge and Tommy H are saying they love Giddens that supposed to be hype?

jdpapa3 I LOVE that image about the PER.  I've never been a huge fan of the newer stats for basketball and this gave me a chuckle.  TP for you.

maybe because neither are very good, but we have seen walker play and do nothing and giddens hasnt really been seen?

neither are worthy of any real hype at this point

Because according to Marbury "Giddens got D up the *** and he's a stopper in this league."

I like Giddens because I think he's a legit talent that got slept on because of lack of exposure.

...and all the other good stuff that budweiserceltic  said.

None of the three young, don't play, players are really hyped up.

Most fans want vets signed to take the rotation spots away from them.

This thread doesn't make any sense. Exactly what hype are we talking about again?
